Anybody else having problems with overheating? (34 weeks)

    Hi All,
First pregnancy, 34 weeks. Its been interesting!

Last few days I've had a couple of spells where I seem to have overheated really badly, my temperature skyrocketed, my heart rate went up really, really fast, sweating, nausea, spewing, feeling really unwell. I went and cooled down in the shower which helped and the hospital said to come in if it happens again, but I just wondered if this has happened to anybody else?

Im actually really fit, not overweight, generally really healthy, but have been under a lot of financial stress lately as we are trying to sell a house and its fallen through 3 times. I drink plenty of water and try to stay out of the heat, but even drinking a cup of hot tea seemed to be enough to set it off

me! Me! I've woken up at night and needed to have a shower coz I'm about to spring a leak of sweat!

Even today, I've had 2 showers it's just so gross.

I'm not sure my heart rate went up, but I was really nauseas and dizzy and felt ill. I just try to drink heaps of water and keep myself cool.

    Best of luck!

You girls wouldnt happen to be in Queensland, would you? Im on the Sunshine Coast and its been an absolute sorcher today. I had a panic attack outside in the heat. Even in an aircond playcentre it wasn't cold enough. I got a headache, my heart was racing and I felt like I couldn't breathe. It was quite scary actually. Im ok now that its cooled down a bit and we have the aircon on flat out at home. Im not coping with the heat this pregnancy at all I cant even take my kids to the beach without worrying about how hot ill get.

Yes! Even in airconditioning because it has been so hot. I find walking outside to my car really really difficult and need a nap to recover afterwards. It is so hot that I am finding it difficult to breath. It is also making me nauseous, head aches and dizzy spells and it is taking a long time for me to recover afterwards. I live in North Queensland.

I have take up permanant residence in front of the fan under an air conditioner. I don't go outside during the daytime unless absolutely necessary.

    Same!
I live in a hot place, but coping worse than usual.

My thyroid plays up too which was making my resting heart rate around 120 which made it worse (dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, lots of sweating etc)... Was put on meds a few weeks ago to help and it's down to around 90 so feel a fair bit better.
But still need lots of rests in the air con and burn up a lot...

I am in Adelaide actually, its not that hot here, well not compared to QLD I'm sure!
Funny thing is I normally love the heat and hate the cold.

At least I know that the overheating thing is 'normal' in pregnancy then if other people are getting it too.

Hope you all can stay cool!
