Not me, but then I've never made it to date (ROFL ROFL) anyway
I wonder why they *might* work? Would it be like Raspberry Leaf Tea? Very interesting/ed!!
My midwife that I had with Dd2 and dd3 has come across a theory that if you eat a handful of dates every day for the last 10 weeks of your pregnancy, you can lower your chances of going overdue.
As a fairly regular 42-weeker, I'm willing to test this theory this time! LOL
13 weeks and I'll start popping those dates. Anyone else willing to test it?

I imagine it would lower your chances of constipation…. not sure on the overdue thing
A friend was a 42 week gestator for her first three, then number 4 came along at 37 weeks (not date assisted).
Dunno sunny, rlt never helped me from going over LOL
Artechim - really? Wow there is hope for me yet haha
Never heard of that one! Intereted to see if it works![]()
I'd test it now if I liked eating dates.. Lol
Yep I've heard it but they have to be fresh dates-those medjool ones that taste nice as opposed to those gross ones in a packet.
Yeah I'd definitely be going the medjool dates - they are yummy!!
Yep they are almost just like eating sticky date pudding![]()
If I ever manage to get pregnant again, I try it. See if we can come in under 42 weeks...
What are the medjool ones??
They are fresh so kept in the fridge section with fruit and veg, I have brought them at Coles.
I'll try it! I've heard the theory too but can't remember where or how it works... But I don't mind fresh dates so might just grab some next shop! 21 weeks wouldn't be too early to start right?
Dunno - she said the last 10 weeks. Not sure how accurate it has to be LOL
I get the medjool ones from aldi - they are usually around $17 a kilo.
Yikes!!! Couldn't do it about 700 cals for 10 medjool dates LOLbut then maybe if i was pregnant. Honestly im not the biggest fan of them so probably couldn't do it anyway. Wonder if it has anything to do with bowel movements though? I mean, for me both times I have had a major emptying in the 12 hours beforehand so wonder if the regular assistance in digestion would have something to do with it? Long shot...
700?!?! Calorie king says 5 dates are around 87 calories? Where are you getting your information from cos obviously I'm way off with mine.
The ones I used to buy from Woolworths - Natural Delights - 2 medjool dates = 140 calories!
Pitted Dates are about 76 calories for 25grams which i find is normally about 5 - cos i use about this in CADA
(and that is from Myfitnesspal but consistent with packaging, I just remembered the medjool cals because it's a recommended snack on 12wbt)
