Just read one of my previous threads and this question may have been answered. Do you agree with these ... Do you have any more to recommend?

    Lavender, Jasmine, Clary Sage.

Be careful with the Clary Sage, it can help bring on labour... so if you are ready to go then make sure you're ready! Lavender and Jasmine are great... I went to a health food shop and had a special blend made up to help me with Labour, I highly recommend it!!

I used Clary Sage, I used it in the bath a couple of nights in a row before I went into labour. I also used it during labour.

Yes, essential oils are around that price. Dont forget, if you are going to be massaging the oils in to mix it with a carrier oil like almond oil :-)

Yeah Clary Sage is around that price but it lasts for ages and you only need a couple of drops in your oil burner or mixed in with a massage oil... mmmmmm massage!!!

If it's only $1 then it's unlikely to be real clary sage, either it will be a synthetic or it will be highly diluted, and in either case, utterly ineffective. Both clary sage and jasmine stimulate uterine contractions, so they should only be used in labour. New Directions and The Sydney Essential Oil Company are reputable suppliers that are much cheaper than health food stores, and much better quality too.

That's what I thought too, but it says:

    CLARY SAGE

    100% pure essential oil

    Botanical name: Salvia sclarea
    Method of extraction: Steamed Distilled.
    Plant part: flower tops
More Information: Clary Sage is ideal for use during phases of nervous tension and mild anxiety. Known to ease the symptoms associated with menstrual cramps, PMS and tension headaches. Used to promote tranquillity.

10ml amber bottle with drippilator (easily disperses 1 drop at a time)

stock clearance well below cost price - only $1

Could be worth it then. It may be old stock though, some oils do lose their efficacy with age, especially worth being careful of when using them for therapeutic purposes.

ETA: I just had a look at the listing, personally I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. It looks like they've copied the description straight from a text book, and the labelling doesn't have any other details (such as the botanical name), usually a good sign that it's not a reputable brand. For a 'one-time' event like labour, I would look for a reputable, therapeutic grade supplier, as it might only be a few dollars wasted if you get this and it's crap, but you'll only get one chance to find that out.

Could it do any harm being old stock, or would it just be useless?
