Hi Chardae, welcome and congrats on the bub!
You will be in my belly buddies group - feel free to join us! You can find us Here.
I am about a week behind you, and I think I may have felt bubs move a couple of times this week.
It's good to remember that our babies are only up to about 10-ish cm long from head to bum atm, so there's a fair bit of room in there still. Personally, I wouldn't be concerned about not feeling bubs every day, not at this early stage. Last pg I didn't feel Natty moving til around 19 weeks, I think. After that the movements were pretty regular and recognisable.
So yeah, I'd suggest don't panic! Particularly when you've got other things to be stressing about. Come in to our buddy group for a chat

What the others have said. When you first feel bub, as Snacks said, it's still quite little, so floating around in there and bumping the walls from time to time. As it grows, soon you will feel it bumping the walls constantly, then kicking and punching, and elbowing and bouncing....

Oh, and you'll be noticing bub in your still moments for a couple of reasons. Firstly, you're still, so not distracted and can focus on the movements. Secondly, your moving around can put bub to sleep (kind of like rocking a baby to sleep), and when you're still it might have an awake and active time. As bub gets bigger, you'll notice this more.

My DS was always most active when I was trying to sleep!!! I definitely think the movement during the day puts them to sleep. I wouldn't worry- I remember thinking that on SO many occasions. But the fact is, babies that small spend much more time asleep than they do awake- and its the same when they come into the world!
I'm sure you're baby is fine. There will come a time (7 months +) when you will begin to feel every move your baby makes. For now your bub still has plenty of room in there so it is likely you will only feel he or she move occasionally.

I've read that its usual to feel baby moving between 18 and 22 weeks, for a first pregnancy.

I'm 21 weeks and I've only just really been sure I was feeling baby in the last couple of days. Before that I was unsure if what I was feeling was the baby or something else (because of course there's a lot else going on down there at the moment). I felt something and then nothing for more than a week after that.

I don't think, at 16 weeks, that you have anything to worry about at all. Some women don't feel their babies until more than a month after that, and that is perfectly normal too.

I always feel the baby's move pretty early..around 14-16 weeks. But it's so light and fluttery at first. I only noticed it in the evening when relaxing watching tv or after eating/drinking (esp milk). And you can go 3 days and feel nothing! For some reason, week 17, this baby has become more active. I do believe, the thinner you are the easier/earlier you will feel the baby too. And you have to be able to distinguish between gas and the baby. It's a skill to learn hehe. Bub always kicked in the same spot early on..so i knew it was the baby. I do notice when I have a really busy day on my feet, it's like the baby was rocked to sleep.
