    Baby shower... When?

    Hi everyone

I've just been invited to a friend's baby shower next weekend and she is due late November. It got me thinking about when is a good time to have one? Most people I know seem to have it a month to 2 months before, which is good as it allows for early delivery.

But I'm due in early Feb (8th) and if I took that into account, I'd be having mine right around the rush of Christmas parties/people going away etc. That's Nov - Dec. If I went for later, like January, a lot of people would be on holidays still. Does that mean I should go for earlier on (like early-mid Nov) or quite late (late Jan - a week before I'm due?)

If it were me, I'd probably do it earlier rather than later. I'd go for late Nov-early Dec. There are no rules though, do whatever makes you happy

ETA: Sorry, I just realised you said late Nov-Dec is too close to Christmas for you (reading too fast again ) I think Early-mid Nov, or even earlier if you want, is totally fine too

I had mine around the six month mark, so that I had enough energy to enjoy my party, participate in the games, and wasn't needing to pee every 45 seconds.

Will probably do it around the same time this pg

I had mine at 32 weeks and thought that was perfect. I was exhausted from the day as it was and my general energy levels weren't too bad at that point. I found I needed a lot more rest from 32 weeks onwards.

I too would have it around the 6 month mark. Still plenty of time for you to be organised and get whatever you still need for bubs. Especially to avoid the Christmas/New Year rush. Enjoy!

I'd go early /mid Nov- I guestimated you'd be around 30-32 weeks?? this way you're not too big to enjoy it and you avoid the mad Chrissy period.

This is when I had mine too. I was tired and it was pretty sedate. I couldn't bear thinking of doing it now at 35 weeks, I would just get to tired to enjoy it properly.

But there are no rules so go with whatever you feel like

Wow if that's the case I'd better get moving! What's the etiquette on planning it btw? Do you straight up ask your BFF if she will do it and give her a list of names? I don't know cause she didn't mention it to me at all, I actually ended up giving her a surprise one.

Plus her DD is 6.5 now and she hasn't been able to conceive since, which makes other pg women upset her, but she swears she's fine about me since were BFFs and it's my first. But I can't think of anyone else (besides my sister who lives 2 hours plane ride away) who I'd like to organise it.

Yep, ask whomever you want to be involved, give them your guest list and the rest is up to them You can have as much or as little input as you like!

BTW: I had both of mine around 36 weeks and I love it... so if you do need to go later rather than earlier for some reason, don't be disheartened!

It was brought up at my birthday if I was having one or not and I just asked who wanted to organise it.. I had a volunteer, so gave her the guest list and dates. I'll be about 30wks. Mines in early November and I'm due Early Jan.
