    Bad Ultrasound news

I had a special ultrasound today to discover why Im measuring 5 weeks ahead. We discovered a few things:

1.) Babies weight is perfect..measuring spot on
    2.) Baby is footling breech
    3.) My cervical length went from 4.9 (4 days ago)..to 3.1
4.) they checked my amniotic fluid and mine and babies kidneys and refused tot ell me what it was, they said to wait until my dr.'s appt on monday.

Something is definitely up with my amniotic levels and my cervical length is not good at all..

    Please be ok baby Violet

Hugs. I can't see how far along you are as I'm on my phone. But there are things they can do for a shortening cervix like putting in a stitch etc. Can't you call your dr and get in before Monday?

I don't understand them not telling you what is wrong. Can you get an earlier appointment? Wrt being breech this early, there is still plenty of time to move.

Hopefully you just have excess amniotic fluid and there's nothing wrong with baby.

I too would ring and request an early appointment. I can't imagine how terrible it would be for you to wait until Monday.
I really hope all is ok.

I hope that you are ok. I also need a checkup because I feel like another baby is on the way.

Hun, I'd be calling the Dr and asking for an appt to put your mind at ease.
There is still plenty if time for bub to turn but I guess it's the other issues you need checked, hope it's better news than you fear.

    Thinking of you

I agree with ZF. See if you can move your Drs appt to tomorrow. Nothing worse than not knowing & having to wait a whole weekend Xx

I would guess if it was urgent they wouldn't be telling you to wait until Monday?

Either way, I'd call back and see if you can speak with someone a little more helpful. Tell them how worried you are about waiting over the weekend, not knowing if something is wrong.

I would guess if it was urgent they wouldn't be telling you to wait until :
I would think this too, hopefully it is the case.
Your cervix is very dynamic and can shorten and lengthen often, even while they watch. They don't tend to be concerned until you are under 2.5cm and funneling. They would not do a stitch this late in the pregnancy as the risks outway the benefits.
Maybe just try and stay of your feet as much as possible to keep the pressure off your cervix.
I hope you can get an earlier appt or at least speak to someone to ease your mind.

Thanks everyone...Im just angry that the Dr. had time to go over whatever bothered the ultrasound tech and make us wait 30 minutes but not go and reassure us that it wasnt that bad or what it was. Everyone was acting hush hush and I dont like that. I want an easy pregnancy...and I plan on calling first thing in the morning to ask my Dr. to explain what the were talking about. When I asked the ultrasound tech about my fluid levels she said "I dont want to overstep my boundaries so I will let the Dr. tell you"

I have everything crossed for you hun, I hope all is well . I'd want to be speaking to the doc before Monday too, for your own sanity at least! They might have been checking the bubs kidneys in relation to fluid levels. GL hun

Hey babe, I can get why you would be scared. Just not knowing what is going on could be daunting. It made me think of this article from Gloria Lemay where she talks about low fluid levels and how bad ultrasound is at actually judging that. So if they do tell you you have low levels, don't instantly stress. Many women have been told that before and it has been completely wrong. I will include the link for you so that you can have a read and think about what GLoria says and see if any of it makes sense to you. Low Amniotic Fluid. . . I don’t think so | Gloria Lemay

Good Luck babe. And maybe take it easy for a few days and rest up. Hopefully your cervix will stay where it should. You have been doing so well!!!

    Update!

Called my doctor and they said my amniotic fluid levels were perfect along with babies weight
So they are chopping up my measuring 5 weeks ahead to my rare uterus type
Preterm labor is still possible ut Im not as worried about that...so HAPPY she is ok in there

Glad you're OK hun, and the baby is too - quick question though: how tall are you?

If you're short, you're more likely to measure "ahead" just as tall people are more likely to measure "behind" - I would say it isn't an exact science, but that would be elevating measuring a bump to the field of "science", which it is not.
