In the past week or so, I've noticed that every now and then (it was every couple of days, but now seems to happening once a day) I get this really sharp pain in my belly. It seems to happen when I'm doing something a bit more active (like vacuuming), but sometimes it just happens when I stand up from sitting. I'm pretty sure it's not round ligament pains, cause it's not in my sides - it's more in the centre of my tummy, under my belly button. The pain seems to run up and down my belly, and is worse if I put any pressure on it. The pain probably only last a few minutes, and then goes away as quickly as it came. I've also noticed that just sitting and resting seem to help it go away. It's not a crampy pain either, and isn't at all like period pain.
Is this normal, or this something I should be concerned about? I don't have another check-up with the midwives for another two weeks, so it's awhile before I can ask about it. I had a scan a couple of days ago and everything was fine there, and I still feel bubs move all through the day too.
Sterla- i used to get the sharp stabbing like pain when i was about 20+ weeks. It was like a sharp pain followed by like a pulling and tightening pain after doing to much...I was told it was BH... Not sure if its what your experiencing but i could be a form of BH.
If the pain goess away i could be BH butif you at all worried a think you would be best speaking to your GP or OB GYN or clinic nurse which ever applies to you...
I had a sharpish weird pain under my belly button at around 20 weeks with Izzy and it turned out to be a mild UTI - best to get it checked if you are worried.... maybe call your midwives? BH are usually painless tightenings - my belly goes rock hard when I have them and they are very different to any other pain/ligaments pulling etc.... Good luck.
I used to get sharp pulling kind of pain under my belly button when I was doing too much - like vaccuming! I think you should take it as a sign to slow down when you get it...
