    A bit worried!

Ok a lot worried. I went to the loo about half an hour ago and there was pink when I wiped (sorry if TMI) I had a few pains today but they seemed normal. I kind of have a full bladder feeling now but I have just been to the loo. I am kind of in between care providers too so not sure if I should call anyone. Last week I told my ob I couldn't see him anymore cause of the cost but he offered me a deal and told me to think about it. I have also booked into a public hospital and have seen them once at the clinic. I have an appointment with my gp tomorrow, what should I do????

Oh ezy!! I am not sure... Do you thimk you would be able to talk to someone, the ob or a midwife if you called your ob now? You could try that. Otherwise if things stay the same talk to your GP tomorrow. BUT if there is anything more or you're worried got to the hospital. hopefully someone will come in with better advice!

Thanks Pix. There isn't really anything they could do now anyway could they. The hospital don't want to see you if you are before 20 weeks. Im on the train home just hoping and praying everything is ok! I feel terrible I've been so blasé about this pg, (eating salami, forgetting vitamins) I'm sure the baby has picked up on that .

Oh I think it's normal to be a bit less paranoid second time around - I have been terrible with vitamins, drinking coffee every day and have forgotten half the things I'm not supposed to eat
hope it is nothing and I am sure that it's NOTHING to do with salami!

Hey Errin. I had four bright red bleeds at 15 and 16 weeks with ds and all turned out fine. They could never figure out what caused it and it just seemed to stop of it's own accord. I hope it's the same for you. Maybe take a trip to the Ed and just get checked if it keeps happening.

Why wouldn't the hospital see you before 17 weeks?! I'm sure if you turn up at emergency they won't turn you away hun! I hope everythings alright

I would suggest going to emergency if you have any more bleeding or pain tonight, but from your symptoms my initial thought is a UTI might be coming. Is there any pain when you pee?

Try to rest, just take it easy before your GP appointment tomorrow. Bleeding at any stage of pregnancy is so scary but it really is likely to be innocent in nature at your stage.

Thanks so much everyone! Traveller I did think uti too. Will mention that tomorrow. No more bleeding so will just keep an eye on it. I have my own Doppler and heard bubs heartbeat so that was a bit reassuring. Still really anxious!

Hey Ez, hopefully it's just a UTI. Do you know whether or not you have a low lying placenta? I was told to expect some bleeding during my pg because the placenta was quite low. Didn't happen, but I was always on the lookout in case.

I had this exact thing 2 weeks ago! Absolutely freaked out! Went to the hospital at 11pm.. and yep ur right they dont really want to see u before 20 weeks.. all i wanted was for them to check the babies hb or do a quick u/s and they kept saying that their main concern was me.. not the baby since there is nothing they can do if i was m/c'ing.. they did bt's to see if i had lost much blood-which was so stupid cos i said that i had only noticed red blood when wiping after going to the toilet and it definitely wasnt alot. Finally after 3 hrs they got an u/s machine and checked baby.. even then they were quite rude to me tho! Gosh it might not have been an emergency to them but needing some reassurance was definitely an emergency to me!
I saw my ob. yesterday and he said its very normal to get light bleeds up until around 16-17 weeks cos everything is sticking together still etc.. but anything after then can be a bit more serious and to call him asap.. But like some of the others have said it cld be a uti or the hospital said it cld even be thrush causing it but with no other real symptoms.. or it cld just be some random thing! Who knows!

I bet u will be fine... especially since u have heard babies hb. From the stories i have heard from ppl if u are going to m/c at this stage in pg it normally happens pretty quickly.. not light spotting here and there. Im sure there are stories that are totally the opposite to this but im sticking to that!

Let us know how u go tomoro at ur gp appointment. Best of luck! xx

Hi ladies had a scan today all is well it turns out I do have a low lying placenta so that may be the cause. Back to the doc this arvo for the follow up and to see if I do have a uti.

Ah dammit and yet reassuring at the same time, Ez. Did they say how close it was to the cervix? I can tell you at least that most placentas grow out of the way and it hopefully will not be an issue for you come time to birth.

Glad the babe is ok, and hopefully the cervix will be nice and out of the way in time for the birth.
