im going thru the same thing, ill wake up with a dry mouth / throat, my nose is blocked , ive tried everything it will be clear for a few hours at the most, then block up again, so that keeps me awake too, ill be soo thirsty i wanna drink glasses n glasses,i try not too, then ill be peeing every hour or so,even if i have just a mouthfull it seems ill be goin again but in 2 hrs, its not that cold here so we dont use heating.. i get so tired at times i get really upset over it. i drink water all day
Our ducted heating does the same thing to my throat so I have decided to turn the bloody thing off over night and rug up instead! When my DH gets up for work at 6.30am though he turns it on again and within 20 minutes i just can't stand it (the dryness) so I get up too Sometimes I find it helps to put damp things to dry over the ducts in our bedroom.... like a drying rack full of washing. That seems to moisten the air a bit... but i worry about the kids' throats getting too dry which is another reason we don't leave it on over night. If your respiratory tract gets too dry it makes it more agreeable for germs... they prefer it that way... which is another reason we get colds over winter.
Hey hun - dry here too, i wake up coughing like Im dying and we don't leave ours on overnight! Go figure!
Anyway I find that some of the ducts have a pool bit in the bottom and you can tip water into them and that helps or you can put bowls of water over them to help moisten the air, maybe put one over the vent in your room overnight. Hope you get some rest soon!
Living in Canberra the overnight lows are pretty damn chilly - like -4 today - I leave ours on 13 overnight - sounds low but believe me it does kick in.
Anyway, I put the vapouriser on in our room for the last couple of weeks and it has been great - I think I am getting addicted to the white noise of it bubbling away.
Me too Kimbaz - 2 other kiddies in the house - can't afford to lose anymore sleep than necessary!!!
Maybe you could try chewing gum, sucking on butter menthols, hard boiled lollies or mints when your mouth is dry instead of drinking water to lessen the toilet trips??
oh the toilet joys. I have found that the more time goes on the more i pee. Also i find myself pretty much still being nearly all the way asleep when i get up to pee now. Try and keep it that way tho, try not to wake urself up too much so that its easier to go back to sleep. I always drink a 750ml pump during the night. Nothing is going to help me not drink that much coz its just the way my body does things. Its just one of them joys of pregnancy. Hopefully ur body will settle into a better weeing routine so u can get a little more shut eye.
