Congratulations!!!![]()
Tell em all to go get stuffed if they can't be happy for you - a baby is a miracle and deserves to be celebrated!!!
And btw - I've never had a blood test to prove any of my pregnancies - pee sticks do the job just fine here![]()

Nope no blood tests here either. The doctor didn't even bother making me POAS cause she said "well you would have done a test at home and it was obviously positive otherwise you wouldn't be here"
And I can assure you I am most definitely pregnant, so I would say so are you.
Congratulations
What an awesome Christmas present!

Congrats!!!!
Wonderful news you are pregnantI find that it's hard for people not to match your energy when you are talking to them about anything. So you are really excited in your tone & body language it will be unlikely for them to be negative, at least without being really obvious that they aren't happy for you kwim? And if they are not excited for you then stuff them!
Woohoo congratulations!
I didn't have a blood test either. I asked my doc about it and she said a HPT was enough.
They are being really obvious about not being happy for me.... They couldn't even fake a P*** poor congratulations..
You know when someone tells you a story and their side of the story is slightly biased? well my mother said (and I quote)
"How can you have a baby so far away from me, I'm sure Brian won't mind you coming home to give birth, he can see the baby a few weeks after he or she is born"
Now... for the record, Brian is my DP...
I'm not going to go on and on about how I think she is a rude and selfish b**** or the fact that she ruined my last labor because she did something I had been telling her not to do since the beginning of my pregnancy...
Please let me know if anyone thinks I'm overreacting, I don't think I am, but if I am please tell me![]()
You have a cheer squad right here hun!
CONGRATULATIONS!![]()
congrats!
BB is your cheer squad!
i hope your family pull their heads out of thier bums. as for your mum tell her "i can birth my baby where it chooses to fall out. and guess what? that'll be where i want to be kthxbye"
i only had a blood test due to the fact i had next to no idea how far along i was!
Congratulations. Tell em all to get stuffed. You have an amazing bundle growing, be happy babe :-D
Addie: WHAT THE? She wants your DP to see your baby when he/she is a couple of weeks old :-( Yea soooo not over reacting. I would reply with a "like hell" but I'm in a mood LOL
Yay for you! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!
I had blood test for the first, but for the second, the dr told me HPT are very accurate, and sent me for other tests (iron levels, STIs, all the usual stuff) later. And this time was the same.
congrats chickie!
no blood tests here either, so stuff your clinic nurse!
as for your mum, unbelievibly selfish of her to think she has the right to see bub before it's father. not likely!
hope it all picks up for you, i think a few of your family need a swift eff off!
What wonderful news!!! How exciting for you, I am sorry your family are not being happy for you![]()
I had the same thought....
Tattoo: That sucks! did you tell them where to go??
This time I am having the labor (God willing) that I want... no-one in the birthing suite except DP (if he makes it in time, as I have to be in Port Augusta 2 week before the birth because my last labor was only 6 hours long, and it's their protocol if you live on a station as far out as we do)
AND having a birth Plan, so If mumsie (who is about to be uninvited!) decides to 'help' during the last stage the midwifes should chuck her out!
Does anyone know if there are any Doula's in Port Augusta?
Also, do you think writing down my last experience for the midwifes to read (long before the labor! lol) would help them to understand what I went through last time and maybe it would be a bit easier? Or do you think a detailed birth plan would be enough?
