I tried to enrol my baby in childcare at various places some months back and was told to wait until he was born! They weren't interested in taking my name at all.

I'm assuming this is because the waiting list is already so long they didn't want to tell me. It was strange. Especially after everyone told me to do it right away as soon as I could.
