    Question Clary Sage and massage...

Acupuncture has given me another killer back ache and I got some clary sage today so DH can give me a massage- just wondering if I can add it to my lavender massage oil and how much? It says 6 drops to 12mL of carrier oil - does that sound right??? The chemist I went to didn't have any plain carrier oil like almond....

    TIA

Sorry tan, not sure? I brought a clary sage oil from an aromatherapy shop. DH hated the smell so wouldn't massage me!! So I rubbed it on my belly myself (hate to say it did nothing) but hey, anything is worth a shot! Can you google it???

I used Olive Oil. Maybe go raid your kitchen for some cooking oil. it will do the job and wont hurt you. Just remember to shower after using it

You can add it to your lavender if you like. Olive oil as alioops suggested is also good. 6 drops to 12mls sounds about right.

It may not bring on labour but it certainly will help especially if the accupuncture is working effectively. Also when you are in labour it is good to use as it helps the contractions stay regular and be more effective.

Can I ask why you rub these oils on your tummy? It sounds interesting...

Just so I know for when my time comes

Ali, Clary Sage is supposed to help induce labour. I used it when I was pg with Em and went 3 days overdue whereas with Sarah I went 9 days overdue.

I had a Marjoram Oil massage when pregnant with #3.

Your actually not supposed to use it during pragnancy because it can bring on contractions, but at 41+ weeks, I was ready!!!

I layed down after the massage to sleep, and was up in about 15 min with regular 5 min contractions, and a 2.5 hr labour.

    Probably coincidence though...

You can also use jasmine oil to help stimulate contractions. Try mixing a few drops in with either olive oil or grapeseed oil (less greasy) without the lavender. Smells yummy & if it doesn't work (it did for my GF but not me) at least you'll smell good when you DTD as that can bring on contractions too
