tattoos (last pregnancy): I survived 5 hours under the gun before succumbing to good sense and saying stop. I then had an unfinished piece on my back for whole year!

Dreadlocks (this pregnancy): every time i dread my hair i realise too late those little itches were headlice. 3 times it's happened now, and they're so hard to treat when you cant comb yr hair.

apple walnut scrolls - I didn't know i was pregnant but i had to have one every day for 3 months. then it stopped. i also went right off coffee- from at least 3 real coffees a day (non-negotiable) to crossing the street to avoid having to smell it at a cafe. at 6 months pg at last i can drink it again: in soy thick shake format (i get em to use berry sorbet as i'm vegan).

    It's ok Jen.
I'm always craving chocolatey things. Except for today, when I really wanted jelly babies or gummi bears, or snakes. Just anything gummi/jelly and fruity. I just got back from the shop and couldn't restrain myself, ended up getting a pack of Starburst sour gummi rings. Mmmmm, gummi.

The other day I totally wanted anything with a sweet artificial llime flavour. Icypole, cordial, lollies, I wasn't fussed. Got home and had an icypole, and the next day bought lime cordial. I guess I'm lucky / unlucky to have a mini supermarket up the road that's open till 8pm. The upside is I can almost always get what I'm craving. The downside is I spend too much on chocolate. And because they don't have a huge range, if I've given in to myself and gone to get something and they don't have it, then I have to do the 20-30min walk to the Coles open till midnight, because once I tell myself I can have something, I have to get, or I drive myself nuts!

Throughout my first pregnancy all I wanted was corn on the cob and tomatos! Now with this one I haven't had many yet-- ( onnly 10 weeks along) but in the beginning all I could handle eating were Twix...LOL

    Hello all

After reading your cravings, I am feeling very left out that I haven't had any.

Maybe later in the pregnancy they will arrive

I've been craving cottage cheese. At before I go home from work I get one of those little tubs of cottage cheese from the supermarket and eat it. And I have toast with as much cottage cheese as I can pile on it for breakfast (or sultana bran). O

Hmmm....I've had a few different ones:

    * anything orange (orange juice, orange cordial, orange icy poles, jaffas etc)
    * peppermint chocolate (damn you Jen, I think you started that LOL)
    * weetbix
    * soft serve icecream (yep, all I wanted right from the very beginning and STILL want is a Maccas chocolate sundae with extra topping LOL and a Wendy's chocolate thickshake, but I've refrained for obvious reasons)
    * Dagwood dogs with sauce (again I've refrained...JUST!)

That's all I can think of for now LOL!!

    carmen,

I was the same in my first pregnancy, I started eating some things I normally wouldn't but not all the time, more like one-offs. This is going to sound grose but here goes! I wanted sui-min (only!) instant noodles but when I cooked it didn't want the noodles so just drank the water. I put icing sugar in a cup and ate it 8-[ and later on in the pregnancy it was more constant cravings like banana paddlepops which progressed to rainbow then chocolate before back to banana and things like that.

Early on with morning sickness in pregnancy it's hard to know what you want, but they do say, you body craves what it needs when preggers - so maybe you have a great balance of vitamins and minerals Not a bad thing at all!

Hey Toots, why have you refrained from Dagwood Dogs, is it the listeria thing? The company I work for sells frozen ones, maybe if it is listeria that's the problem you could contact a local food distributor & buy a box of frozen ones so you can cook them properly at home.......

Oh oh oh! I've thought of another one - yoghurt! Get this, because I get hungry between 5 - 7 am of a morning (aarrggh) I need to get up and eat something and the only thing that alleviates the hunger and allows me to get back to sleep is yoghurt! I started to crave it initially but then during my early morning raids on the fridge discovered that this was the best possible thing for me to eat, so that's my routine now LOL!

Sarah - re the dagwood dogs. The reason I haven't eaten them is because you can't get them at many places down here, but you can usually get them at the Salamanca Markets held down here on a Saturday, but I'm not sure as I would trust them, i.e. I don't know how long they would have been sitting there for, so yeah, I'd be worried about listeria. I was also wondering exactly what kind of meat it is that is in them LOL?!?! OMG I'm salivating just thinking about them though!!! Ooooohhhh dagwood dog with big slurps of tomato sauce!! TO DIE FOR! I hadn't thought of buying them frozen and am unsure where I could get them from down here?!?

I think they have both beef & pork in them, but will find out for you tomorrow when I'm at work.

OK, my mission for tomorrow is to check with our supplier if (and where) you can buy them in Tassie!! Afterall, we can't have your little tiger going without something he REALLY wants can we?!

Ok, the only thing I have really craved is strawberry milk. Some days I want it so bad I can actually smell it! And I am not kidding! What I really really would like is a strawberry shake from Maccas but I haven't had one . I just get the normal strawberry milk from the deli instead. I bought a huge tin of strawberry nesquik thinking that I had a cheaper solution to this craving but it doesn't even taste strawberry! It only tastes sweet. Grrrrr. Oh, and did anyone else get those cadburys strawberries and dream eggs at easter time? They were really really good too, tasted just like a strawberry milkshake! Oh no. I've done it now. Too much mention of this and now I want some. Why does this always happen in the middle of the night?
