I'd been wanting to try those eggs since easter last year, but refused to pay $6 for a 120gm pack of eggs. I saw them today at Coles for $1.59 because it is after easter (best time to get cheap chocolate cos chocolate takes years to go off). I tried some out already, and they are sooo good. They aren't excessively rich like most of the dream range.

I had a craving for strawberry flavoured things a while back. Stemmed from me not being able to get Strawberry Ripes anymore. But my cravings change every day. It's usually grapes, chocolate something, or yogurt, which I can't have too much of, because dairy food in any portion more than a tiny amount makes me feel nauseous, as I remembered today after eating 500g of yogurt for lunch. Ooops!

I've got a bit of a lactose intolerance so I need to be careful about dairy too - I always have to have the 'light' versions of things (particularly milk and cheese) or it can make me pretty sick! The only 'full strength' stuff I can eat is yoghurt, but pre-pregnancy on the rare occasion I would have yoghurt I would always have the light stuff....seems my stomach can tolerate full strength yoghurt ATM!

I'm the opposite... usually any dairy product makes me feel yuck, so I don't drink milk or eat full cream cheese etc... or eat yogurt, but throughout PG I have been eating yogurt by the litre! Strange!

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I craved Promite. Hate the stuff normally, but when I was pregnant, I had to have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner !! lol.
I also craved sour cream and chives chips and gherkins !!! lol

It's amazing what the body needs !

I am at that horrible sick stage where I want something but I have no idea what it is...I have about 5 different boxes of cereal at the moment, I start eating one and am then sick and can't face it again!

Can anyone fill me in on what the old wives tales are re cravings and the sex of the baby? It would be interesting to see how many people this has been true for!

Someone told me savory for boys and sweets for girls... but I've had alternate cravings, one month sweet and the other savory... who knows?

    Hi Beth!

I'm pretty sure they are definietly old wives tales as yesterday at the service station I bought:

1 apple and cinnamon fruit bar
    1 chocolate bar, and
    2 packets of chips...

and ate them ALL in the space of about 15mins and they all satisfied my cravings!!!

Ohhh I wish DH was home to take me to the shop now that I am talking about it! (I am in this stage where I hate going out by myself, did/does anyone else feel like that during their pregnancy?).

One thing that I REALLY enjoying eating is apple puree. YUM!

    This is weird!!!

    Hi Everyone,
I'm only new here but I read the craving stories and remember that with Mia, my 3yo daughter, I craved avocado and salt & vinegar chip sandwiches, and McDonald's fries dipped in Chocolate thickshake!!! YUM YUM!!! I still love the thought of them. It grosses my fiance out bigtime...........

I've heard the same as Christy: sweet things for girls, savoury/meat and veg for boys LOL. I seem to crave more sweet things than anything else, so that doesn't match up considering we've been told we're having a boy!

Nope, definately wives tales because all I wanted to eat was savoury stuff, like sour cream and chives, savoury dips etc...and I had a girl!!

Hope I don't end up craving peppermint freddos - the peppermint chocs are the ones I always leave in the Roses box YUK

At what stage do most people's cravings start??
I'm just over 12 weeks and haven't had any cravings really, although I really enjoy some foods that I would normally not eat a lot of - chips, cheezels, sausage rolls. Did go thru a week or so where I ate avocado every day, didn't crave it, but just really enjoyed having it.

Am starting to wonder what this bub is doing in there as I haven't even had the emotional rollercoaster ride start yet - have been unmotivated but no tears or tantrums YET
Maybe saving it all up for 2nd trimester!!
Or maybe saving it all up for when it comes out!!!

    Loved reading your cravings anyway

    Hi

Not sure when cravings start. But the other week i wanted crisps and i do not always have them in the house.

With Kimberley i loved having sweet and sour chicken with rice or curry did not go of spicey food at all.

I'm not 100% sure that I have had "cravings" but over the long weekend, I did have a fancy for hot buttered white toast with vegemite. I ate half the loaf!!

I noticed on one thread (somewhere on this enormous site!) that someone commented about eating sausage rolls for morning sickness. I did this, but all that happened was a bit of heartburn and they kept reapeating on me. And I still felt sick.

I am not a sweet tooth normally (I am allergic to chocolate!) and I think it will be a real fight in the household between myself and DH if i become one. He is such a sweet tooth - a lolly doesn't make it through our door! Mind you, we had a bit of a "discussion" about him eating each and every bit of treats that came through the door after shopping. I told him that I had bought some of them because I feel sick and need them whilst pg...and I don't appreciate him scoffing the lot just because he is a bit peckish!!! [-X

    Hello

I am finding that I am eating chocolate now whereas prior to being pregnant, I couldn't stand the taste.

I am not getting cravings but if I am offered it then I will eat it.

I also have developed an aversion to lettuce in sandwiches it tastes really limp and horrible and I have to pull the lettuce out.

I had my first craving today, I just had to have skittles

Other than that, for lunch today I had a mashed banana and peanut butter sandwich - I had wanted the banana sandwich but saw the peanut butter when I got the bread from the cupboard so I wanted it too! Aaron was disgusted.
