delayed cord clamping and vit K

just wondering is vit K required if you delay the cutting of the cord? With our 1st son we gave him oral vit K (cord cut immediately) and tbh I am a little hazy now on why we give vit K. We don't immunise at all but we did give ds oral vit K.

there is a very rare (but fatal) disorder that can arise from your child not having Vitamin K in their system - we got given details at the booking appt last week but it's in the car. i asked about delayed cord clamping and there was no mention of it impacting the baby with regards to vitamin k injection or oral vitamin k.

if you want me to scan the doc and send it to you, pm me your email addy

Its a matter of individual choice, BBE. The hospital wont tell you that if you delay clamping you don't need the vit K injection, because it is their policy to give it regardless. As far as I'm aware, delaying the clamping won't increase baby's level of vit K, but I'm no expert.
There are articles on vit K and delayed cord clamping on here I'm pretty sure. It is up to you as to what you choose for your children.
