If thats what you want to do go away for a weekend then do it, i'm sure they would cope without you for a couple of nights.
I laughed when i saw this thread as i have been telling DH his days are mounting up LOL. He's just been away on a boys ride weekend so theres two days, then he's heading away on a weeks fishing trip with the boys (been planned for 18 months) so theres another 7 days and then he is away in July for another ride weekend which will be 3 days. So far thats 12 whooping days i have racked up to use and i tell him i'm heading to a island getaway to lounge on the beach.
I think it's a great idea. How long is too long to be away from DS? You can get some good trips to Fiji atm. Otherwise, an indulgent day spa place in Queensland or Byron Bay. Or there's always Daylesford, but that might not be far enough away for you.
