again, amazed... how does that happen... why so quick for some and a long long long torture for others!!!!!!!!?????????????

    luck?
i'm not speaking to my cervix until it pulls up its socks.
Emma, i know i was shocked that i went from 21hrs with my first to 1hr44 with my second but in all honesty i can say that my second (the quicker) was so much more full on and intense. I guess though when i had previously had 21hrs for my body to do the same thing as it did in 1hr44mins i suppose you have to kinda expect it hey!

    Yes, first one was 2hrs 50min, 2nd was 2hrs.

Both induced and started from when waters were broken.

I worry about having to call the ambulance too! Especially if waters break :0

My first was 9 hours, my second was 6.
A friend of mine had a 6 hour labour for her first, and 24 minutes for her second

Yep I was 9 hrs with my first, then 4 hrs with my second - I did have to call the ambo with #2 as I had no pre-labour at all and was a bit in denial about properly being in labour! Lol

    Haha.

    Another here
    1st - 11 hours
    2nd - 50min

You might not have to camp though - if I have another I will just have someone camp with me.
And do you have any ambulance dispatch places near you? With my second an ambulance was called and I think they took about 10min, so it might depend on where you live and how busy the day/night is.

Yeah, mine did too. First was 8 hours, second was 3 hours. But if it's any consolation, my friend had a 3 hour labour for both her 2nd and 3rd, so it might not get quicker this time around.

Nelle, im not exactly sure where the ambulance would be dispatched from for my area - but i am rather confident that it would take longer then 10mins to get here, anyway if i have to ring them i most certainly will.

MantaRay - 3 hrs isnt too bad i dont think, id hate to go from 21hrs, to 1hr44 then to a horribly long 30hr labour. I have read that they say it usually does get quicker with each bub so i guess we will just have to wait and see.

Great thread!!! Something I did want to know!!!

I can't really answer, but I had a 4.5hour labour with my first who was posteria so am expecting this one to be extremely fast, which kind of scares me I must admit!

I wish you all the very best with it all.

    NO.... Mine got longer.
    DD#1 ~ 18hrs
    DD#2 ~ 20hrs
    DD#3 ~ 25hrs (induced)

I hope this one will be shorter but with my track record doesnt look like it.
