Do you think this is silly?

I want to have a baby shower. I have never had one and i kinda feel like i have missed something by not having one.

However, this is baby #4. Do you think that's silly or that people will not come because it isn't our first bub?

Not only do i feel like im missing out but i have thrown all baby stuff out (cause we weren't expecting #4 to show up!) so it isn't like i have everything i need, cause i have nothing right now bar a bassinette and a few pieces of clothing.

I would organise it myself cause i know no one else will. But i don't want no one to show up either.

It'd just be nice to have one day of relaxing and pampering... *sigh*

This is my 4th & I want one! I've never had one either, so have told every one I want one. I'm hoping someone out there loves me enough to organise it, lol.
If not I guess I will. A friend of mine did hers. Just put her mum on the invite though

Maybe you could organise a blessingway/baby shower. A blessingway is perfectly "acceptable" for any pregnancy so if you started with mentioning that you may feel less "greedy" or whatever it is that is holding you back. But then you can let people know it'll be fun "like a baby shower" then still have the games and pressies and things but add a little blessingway bit with messages of support for your birth or something?

Not at all babe, I was thinking about it myself!!!!

Even though this #8, I have NOTHING. It is all gone, and I haven't had one since my first bub, 13 years ago!!!

Send the invites out from someone else, and if its after the GC meetup, Ill try to come down, your only a few hours away from me!!! xoxoxo

Everyone is entitled a baby shower sweets, even for #4!!!

I am having one too, This is my baby #5 and the first girl for DH and I. I threw everything out when DS3 as we thought we wern't having any more, then we were 'discussing' whether to have another one and i was pregnant. So we had to start from scratch again. Luckily i have most of it now, just waiting to see what i get for my shower and going through all the clothes i have been given and keeping what i want/need/think is too cute to throw away.....
Have one you will love it

Thank you girls. You have put my mind at ease and now i'm excited! I do have a couple of girls who would probably help out so thanks for that tip.

DO it! Meow's idea is great, of having a blessingway or similar. I am planning to have a "check out my gut" party in three different states - not decided on presents yet - probably none - but definitely having some sort of shindig to show off the belly.

As always, I will probably encourage donations to charity in place of new gifts, or gifts that are hand made, handwritten or hand-me-down. (the green streak knows no bounds)

Go for it! It's a celebration for bub, surely people will want to be a part of that. Or as others have mentioned, make it a 'day with the girls' for you to enjoy time with your friends before another little one takes up your time
My best friend and mum organised one for me and I wasn't allowed to do anything AT ALL for it... just sit back and enjoy the day. If you need help with anything I'm in the area
