Hi girls, will just pop in quickly. Yep the scan are about $160 for 12w and $190ish for 20 wks.
I know why you girls had nothing from Dennis' rooms, cause I think when you would have had your first appt Linda was away on holidays, and she normally gives you a little slip telling you to ring and make an appointment after your 10th Week. If you ring the Cabrini main number and ask for the ante natal office between 9.30am and 1ish ( Nox??) to make your appt.
Nox - Helen is really lovely isn't she, really great at answering all of your questions, and the couple of times I have spoken to her on the phone she has also been great. Sweety, that is such a shame about the job. But you are right, at the moment you need to put yours and the baby's needs above everything else hun.
Ella I have had quite alot of headaches and dizziness with this pregnancy as well, and am having quite an emotional I can't cope with three kids today. Heaven help me!
Gigi - I hope you have a great weekend with your parents hun, make the most of having them run around after no 1!
-
Relle: Mummy's bottom is sore! I LOVE IT!!! The feral is tooooooo cute!
I am feeling more like a human today - Quinn went to the Chiro yesterday and that sorted him right out - he slept lots last night - night before not much sleeping and lots of crying.
I love it at the end of "The Dennis Experience" how he says I might see you next week, any day now. He told me twice that he thought I wouldn't make it to my next appointment. The second time he was right. I get to see him again on the 22nd March, maybe i will wear a pink RL polo shirt and funky glasses and wear my I LOVE DENNIS badges :) Maybe I will get a t-shirt made for Quinn to wear too :)
-
Good Morning girls, just popping in before heading off to Playgroup!
Glad to hear the chiro fixed the mighty Quinn up, fahncy! Man I hate the bad nights - they are a shocker! Rod was always really good and settled the boys in the middle of the night, cause they could always smell my milk and that made them worse.
I know my big man is a crack up sometimes! He is really starting to turn some corners now.
I saw Dennis the morning I went into labour and had a show before I saw him and I said I will be seeing you tonight, and he said - not likely! He was right, but it wasn't that much longer either.
We had better go, will catch you girls a bit later
-
Hi girls,
I had another Doula Appointment last night for a girl due in May and it was great!
It went really, really well and I am feeling much more confident in my choice of profession! Strangely enough, she has alot of the same issues/reasons for wanting support 2nd time round as I did, so I totally understand her line of thinking and am looking forward to supporting her and hopefully having the outcome she would love to have for her birth! I meet with her again in a month for our next appt!
I am LOVING becoming a Doula! :D
How is everyone else doing? What are we all upto for the weekend?
ETA: Oh man, Campbell is cracking me up! Campbell has got the tiniest little sore on his leg and I am sitting next to him on the computer and he said" Mum Dr Dennis needs to fix Campbell's Leg" . How cute is that!!!!
-
thanks for the u/s quotes! some of the girls in my Belly Buddies group are being charged up to $245 for their 12-week scan - makes $170- sound like a bargain!
i had my maternal serum blood test this morning. gee i HATE blood tests!! my veins are hard for them to find and they always poke around a few times before they actually get it right - ouch!
my DH loves ralph lauren polo shirts.. i'll have to buy him a pink one and give it to him when it's time to go to hospital - that way he'll fit right in in the delivery room!! ha ha ha!
-
We should get all our DHs in pink polos in the delivery room! How hilarious would that be? LOL
Relle -- I am so happy for you re the Doula-ing! It is really your calling. My DH can't wait to meet you BTW.
Have a great night ladies. Just having a quick lay down before dinner tonight.
ox
-
Nox - Sweety, I haven't mentioned my doula-ing for you as I wanted to let you confirm it with the girls! :D I am really looking forward to meeting with Michael as well, let me know when you want to organise a day and time, and if you want to get together again before then so I can give you some info to show him before we meet.
So now I can officially say I am stoked, very excited and looking forward to supporting you through your pregnancy and birth!
How much better could it get girls! Supporting one of you lovely ladies, delivering at Cabrini and with Dennis as the OB - wooohooooooooooo:dance:
-
You are the absolute professional! I am very happy to tell the girls that I am a Relle doula girl!! haha.
Will email you to org a time to meet again. I think that getting the info first would be really great -- plus another excuse for a tea!
-
Aww thanks hun!
Yep sounds like a great excuse for a cuppa! OK, email me when you get a chance, I have most tuesday without the boys now!
-
Hi all,
hope that your weekends are traveling well.
I haven't been too good, had a dreadful day on Thursday after the drive up here and seriously felt like I could have been going into early labour. thankfully, the alien is still cooking and I am feeling better apart from the 38 degrees here today!!!
Nox - how unreal that you will have Relle as your Doula! how exciting....
Seeing Big D on Tuesday so looking forward to that. I think that I have grown over the last few days up here as I have just been waited on hand and foot and so not so much running around after Ella etc. I think that gives my body a chance to catch up with itself and say, ok, we need to add a couple of cms to your fundal height now! hoping that I will be still on track with my measurements when I see Dennis - should all be fine. Can't believe I am in my 33rd week. not long now.
have a great saturday night ladies and check back tomorrow.
sweet dreams
gigi
xx
DUE ANZAC DAY!
-
Wow Gigi! It's all just happening there, isn't it??!! You deserve to be waited on hand and foot. But I hope that you are feeling better ... and that you have air con. How horrible 38 degrees!
I am v excited about Relle as my doula!!! It does make me seem like the preggo chick with all the mod cons! What a way to experience my first pregnancy.
I need some advice re working as a mother, breastfeeding, etc ... can I ask you guys here, or should I move this to a more 'appropriate' thread? (Silly question, but I don't really know forum etiquette ...)
-
Hi all,
Nox - I am not 100% sure about advice and moving to another thread - I am new to this forum thing too and don't know what the etiquette is! But from what I have read on other threads when members talk about something that the moderators think should be moved, they jump in and give us a link to go to in order to talk about it - so maybe ask away and see what happens! happy to help if I can....
looking forward to seeing Dennis tomorrow - can't wait to check all is ok and on track!
have a great day all...
gigi
-
Nox - hun your can certainly post your questions here for us, but it might be better if you start new threads in the appropriate topics in order to get a broader range of opinions/ideas/suggestions. We can always come and anwer in your other threads!!!!:D
There is a forum for working after having a baby, one for breastfeeding etc and that way everyone on Bellybelly can post for you!
Gigi - tomorrow for you that means only a week for Ella and I to see Dr D! Wow at thinking you were going into labour! were abouts are your parents?
We all have headcolds here at the moment, not too bad, but Cooper is refusing to sleep during the day and he woke at 5am, so I am ready for sleep!
-
Thanks Relle and Gigi. I will post in a better place ... I am currently looking into childcare. Very stressful!!!! Good luck to you, Gigi tomorrow!!!! Very very exciting! Relle, take care of yourself and the fam!!! You poor thing.
-
oh nox - yep childcare sure is stressful! NOt easy at all, and even after you have the baby your ideas can change, it is really hard to pick the right place iykwim.
Yeah we will all get better, just feeling pretty ordinary right now!
-
Actually, are you in my area -- Stonnington? You aren't are you ...
-
I am actually in Glen Eira, but about 500m from Stonnington! lol My kids go to Monash Campus Child Care centre which is on Derby Road near Caulfield Plaza.
I was looking at Creches around Wattletree road as well though.
-
Hi all,
yes, have been having some very strange sensations over the weekend - a few very odd contractions last night that are totally different from my usual BH so I will be asking Dennis about it this afternoon. But all is feeling well and healthy so that's the main thing now. Thankfully that Melbourne heatwave seems to have passed for the week - today is gorgeous!
Relle - my folks have a property about 200ks north of melbourne, just before Euroa. It's great up there - so nice to get away - but soooo dry at the moment. Hope you feel better soon babe.
Wow - we are all very close - Relle I am in Glen Eira too. I am looking at getting Ella into occasional care a couple of mornings a week in the lead up to birth. It's quite stressful but I think I could really use the break.
Will fill you in on my appointment later on this afternoon. Have a great day all,
Gigi
-
Gigi- hope the appointment with Dr D goes well, look forward to hearing about it.
I used to live in Wangaratta and Seymour for work, so know the area fairly well, I loved it up there, but I bet it is really dry!
That sounds like a great idea to get Ella into care. I was in Mornington when I had Cooper and Campbell just continued to go to his creche 1 day a week, down there and this week is my first week of having both in for a day up here!
I am supposed to be resting, but have been flat out shopping, putting a new cot together and cleaning. I have just promised my DH that I will take it easy for the rest of the day. (yeah right! too much to do!)
-
Hi all,
Well, saw the great man and things are all good! Yay!
Measuring a little under average (31cms for my 33 weeks) but he said that it's basically exactly the same as last time and Ella ended up being 8lbs 2 so no problems with weight. I asked him about it because I have had the whole "gee you're small" comments since the beginning (which does get annoying) and he said that it's all fine - I am just someone who tends to be "all baby" and don't get too big (until the end - I reminded him- like the side of a house by the time Ella came out!!!)
Heart beat all good, BP was normal today (thank goodness) and my blood tests came back ace too so all in all, a very good appointment! See him again in 3 weeks - the 29th, so nearly at the weeklies!
Relle - it is extremely dry up there as you can imagine. I have never seen it like that before, it's quite depressing. The poor animals - it's very hard for the farmers.
Anyway, am going to hit the couch for half an hour while I can so hope you all had a great day!
Gigi
-
Hi ladies,
Gigi what wonderful news for you!
Relle are you feeling better?
I have put unknown baby to be's name down at 2 places here in Prahran (one of which is really excellent and made me think of you, Relle ... thinking advertising, you know how I am!). I went to one in Wattletree Rd today as well and was slightly discouraged ... but I will keep looking though.
Seems to all have worked out re potential dream job as well ... they feel that I am worth the hassle!!!! Can't quite believe it ... although I realise that their love for me will not translate into dream salary ... damn these 'art' industries!!!
Anyway, would you believe it that I am just home and have not even eaten dinner yet?? Off to get some FOOD!!!!
-
hi all!!
sorry for the long absence! i wrote a really long entry the other day (while at work), but before i could post it my boss came over to my desk to talk to me, and in my hurry to hide it i accidentally shut down BB instead of minimising it, and lost everything - aaarrrgghhh!!!
i'm sure i didn't have anything terribly interesting to say though!! everything is going well for me. after a few weeks respite my morning sickness has returned, but hopefully it will not hang around too long...
i spoke to Dennis briefly on Monday. i was paying for my flights to South Africa (going in June) and wanted to make sure that i was allowed to go to a Malaria region... he assured me if i was sensible and used lots of insect spray and wore long clothes then i should be ok. yay!! i'm so excited about our trip! staying in one of Richard Branson's Private Game Parks for 4 nights (go on 2 x 3-hour animal safari tours each day, and have unlimited access to great food and drink - including french champagne, which of course will be wasted on me - boo hoo), and then spending 4 nights in Cape Town! we wanted to go to South Africa for out honeymoon but decided it was too expensive, but now have decided if we don't do it before the baby arrives we might not have the opportunity to go again for YEARS, so are splashing out - woo hoo!!
i have my 12-week scan next tues. my DH has promised to take time off work and come (yay!), and will also meet Dennis for the first time. i'm really looking forward to it - my belly is starting to show, so hopefully that means the baby is a good size and there will be plenty for us to look at during the scan!!
ooh, still have to go and fill in the paperwork at Cabrini - i'm trying to sort out moving house, and organising holidays to perth, the gold coast and south africa at the moment, so have LOTS of things on my to-do list!!
ooh, i bought my first maternity clothes yesterday! spent a fortune (went to Premaman on Toorak Rd), but am feeling much more comfortable now - yay!
-
Hi girls,
Ella - that's wonderful about your scan next week - it's so exciting - and great that DH can be there. Yay on spending a fortune - isn't Premaman beautiful? they have great stuff in there....Your trip sounds exciting too - lots of things to look forward to this year for you!
Feeling so tired here - I think that I am really nearing the end of my tether with work.....end of march can't come soon enough.
Hope you are all well,
Gigi
DUE ANZAC DAY!
-
Hi girls,
Gigi - awesome news to hear everything is going along really well and your BP is doing what it should! Yeah I can definately imagine how dry it is up there, it is so heartwrenching. I bet you are hanging for work to finish, the count down is on!
Nox - That is great news about getting bubs name down. What date are you actually due babe? Wow - tell us all about the job babe! I am getting there, my DH has stayed home from work today to help me with the kids so I can try and get some rest and knock this thing over.
Ella - Don't you hate it when you type out a reply and then lose it, it is so frustrating!!!!!
Woohoo on the up and coming scan!! how exciting! Make sure we hear all about it! I am so envious of your trips coming up! The only holidays we have taken in the last 3 years have been to have babies! Even this morning My DH commented about having to make sure it doesn't happen again in a hurry! no kidding!!!!
Well I had better go, have a rest and then might sort out some baby clothes and see exactly what we do and don't have!
Have a great day girls!
Ella, only 5 more sleeps till we see Dr D!!!!:D
-
Hi girls,
Just been for a walk and boy, I have a lot of cervix pain as a result, I feel like contractions could start at any time! Really sore down there - am going to have a rest I think. Need a few more weeks of cooking in there please!
Have a great long weekend all and Ella and Relle - good luck with Dennis on Tues (?)
Catch you all later
Gigi xx
-
Hey Gigi, How is the cervis pain going? I must admit that with DS 2 I had loads and loads of aches and pains in the pubic area and when I asked Dr D about it, he said that it is normal and certainly does increase with subsequent pregnancies, so heaven help me when this one starts to hurt! lol
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy birthday Dear Nox
Happy Birthday to you!!!!!
I hope you have a great day hun, make sure you let us know what goodies you get!
Kirsten - How is the mighty fine Quinn going????? How are the boobs hun?
Ella - we have our appt today, you have your scan to don't you? Goodluck hun, it iwill be so exciting to see bubba again!
Ros - Wooohoooo - we are off to see Dr D today! :D
-
Hi all,
Relle - Cervix pain is dreadful - I had read it gets worse with subsequent pgs but didn't realise it would be this much!
Plus, got gastro again on Sunday night - sooo sick. Was up all night with it and am still completely exhausted and dehydrated and a bit queasy. So horrible. Hopefully it will pass, I have had enough niggles and pains etc with this pg but I know that I can't complain too much as I have a healthy bub in there and that's the most important thing....
Happy Birthday Nox! Hope you had a great day.
Good luck at Dr Ds girls - let us know how you go....
gigi
-
Hi Girls!
Gigi - it sure is a shocker! You poor poor thing about the gastro! Man I had a bout of Gastro at about the same time with Cooper, and I seriously thought I was going to go into labour, so I completely empathise with you hun! I hope you are feeling better sson and that your energy returns!
OK are you all ready for this ????
I have passed all four modules of the Doula Course!!!!
Once I have completed my 3 training births I will be a fully qualified and registered Doula! wooohoooooooo
Ok Onto my appt with Dr D. I told him about Campbell putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with where babies come from, and he was impressed! He also told us ( Ros and the gorgeous Sebe was there too!) about his twins asking their mum about where babies come from - hilarious!!!!!
All is well with bubs ( I think) didn't really talk about bubs, to busy chatting and he was in a mighty hurry running off to a birth!
Ella, hope everything goes well for you hun, look forward to the report back on the ultrasound!
NExt Appointment is 10th April - forever away!!!!!!!
-
HELLO!!!
Feels like a lifetime since I wrote!!! So much happens, doesn't it????
Well congrats Relle!!! You are marvelous! I am so proud of you and so prooud to be one of your 'girls'!
Gigi -- I heard terrible stories from another girlfriend who had gastro -- she went into hospital (cabrini) and the midwives told her she was giving birth!! (she was only 28w or so) She was totally freaking out and was trying to reconcile herself to this horrible situation. Then they finally called her Dr who came in and said that she was no where near giving birth -- just gastro!!!! AAARRGGHH! How terrbile!
Hope that you are much better though!
I haven't seen Dennis since week 8 or so for an appointment. My 12 w was done over the phone and I am not seeing him again until something like the 16 April. Do you think that is abnormal? I mean I feel fine ....
Anyway ... hope all is well with you guys. Will fill you in on job when it is finalised! (don't want to hex it too much!)
-
hi all!!
sorry i've been a bit quiet - life is hectic at the moment!!
gigi - sorry to hear you're getting lots of aches and pains, and the gastro sounds terrible!! i had a bit of a scare the other day. i was at work and felt terrible pains and went running to the toilet. i was in there for half an hour!! i couldn't work out whether the pains were from my bowels or my uterus (haven't been through pregnancy before!).. it was very scary... after about half an hour the pain just went away... it was very odd, but i've been a bit constipated, so maybe it was just my bowels trying to move things along... anyway, hope you don't have any awful gastro repeats!!
relle - that's wonderful news that you have gotten through the course SO QUICKLY - talk about motivation!! you will be a fully-qualified doula in no time - how exciting!! relle, my next appointment isn't until the 30th April!! count yourself lucky!! he also whizzed through my appointment (didn't rush me, but was definitely moving faster than last time) because he had a backlog of people in the waiting room due to the birth he attended in the middle of the day. i must say, he's the only doctor that i don't mind being kept waiting by because i think, when i go into labour i want to be priority #1, and will expect other patients to wait patiently for my little bundle to make his/her debut!!
nox - happy belated birthday! i hope you were thoroughly spoiled!! i don't think there's any problem with you not seeing dennis in a while. i saw him at 8 weeks, then just yesterday at 12 weeks, and will not see him again until 19-20 weeks. yesterday's appointment was very short, and all he did (that he couldn't have done over the phone) was take my blood pressure and feel my tummy - none of which revealed anything suspicious... so i don't think you would have lost out on anything with your telephone appointment!
well, my 12-week scan went swimmingly yesterday! i can't believe how much the baby has developed since my emergency scan 3 weeks ago - incredible!! it even scratched its ear for us for entertainment value - aawwhhhh... my DH was quite impressed i think, even though he was playing cool. i, on the other hand was so excited that i started crying in the waiting room before i even got in there - ha ha ha!! our risk of Down Syndrome is apparently around 1:7,000, so that's reassuring (or at least it was until i found out that my SILs risk was 1:27,000!!!).. my DH met dennis for the first time. he thought he was a bit too laid back about everything, but my DH is a stresshead and a pessimist, so that's to be expected!! i love dennis's laid back approach, and i'm very happy with my choice of OB (which i have to thank you girls for!)...
ok, that's it for me. gigi, rest up and i hope the pelvic pain subsides a little...
-
Hi Girls!
Ella, I am so glad to hear everything is still going fantastic with bubbas - as we knew it would! lol I was the last patient in to see him just before rushing off to that birth, and both Ros and I were flabergasted to see him running down to Cabrini and not driving! hehehehehe. I totally agreee with you though, I never ever get upset if I ever have to wait for him, cause it is only cause he is off delivering someone else's baby, and we do want him to do the same for us and put us before his appt when we deliver!I didn't even get to sit down, straight up on the bed for exam and chat then outa there!
Your risk for Downs is awesome! mine were 1:1770 and 1:1880 and then 1:8000 or something, so very different but all good!
The thing with your bowelsis pretty normal too, I always swing from one extreme to the other just because the growing bubs is squishing you up!
By the way, if you still want to look at a Doula down the track, I am still available for you like I am with Nox, (for the love of it!LOL)you girls showed loads of faith in me, so I can only repay that!
Nox - I think it is fine to not have had your appt. If you are feeling well and you feel like you are growing, then everything would be going along just fine! If you do get concerned, you could always ring and have Linda squeeze you in!
Hope everyone else is well!
-
Morning girls,
Ella - that is great news about your appointment and scan! Your figures are fantastic and it's just another sigh of relief for you on this journey as you pass each milestone. Sounds like it was your bowels the other day - ahh the joys of pregnancy! I reckon most DHs I know think Dennis is too laid back! Isn't it funny, whereas the girls think he's the best thing since sliced bread. He just makes you feel so much at ease about the whole thing, but rest assured that he is also brilliant when the going gets tough!
Relle - congratulations! Well done to you, what an achievement! Glad to hear that all is well with you too.
Nox- I seriously wouldn't worry about your appointment. If he felt the need to see you earlier he would. I think it is merely a sign that all is going along beautifully and complication free - which is what you want! your friend's gastro incident sounds dreadful. it's not a whole lot of fun at all I can tell you. Stay away from it if you possibly can!!!
Well girls, feeling quite a bit better today. A bit queasy this morning, think I might be getting the old late stage morning sickness which would be no fun but hey, what can you do? Spoke to Dennis yesterday about my gastro and sickness as I was sick again yesterday morning after brekky. He said that it's a 3 day virus this time and will take me about 7-10 days to recover completely. He also said not to worry about the feeling of losing weight with it as the baby will take everything it needs from me and my weight will catch up when i start retaining fluid again, so that's good.
Anyway, glad to hear all is going along so well for us all! Am back to see Dennis on the 29th - so onto the 3 weeklies - then I am SURE I will see him more often.....maybe.....
xxx
-
Hi girls,
It has been very quiet in here lately! lol
Gigi - you poor thing! I am really feeling for you hun, it is times like that when you just wish it is all over iykwim.
woohoooo down to the 3 weeklies - you are getting close girl!
-
bye bye
Hui girls i am of to Thailand tonight! Here we come Phuket!!!!!!!!! watch out markets an robbies bank balance cause were wiping the town clean:cryinglaugh:
Will miss ya girls!!!!
Love Roslyn
Relle will catch up on the weekend we get back.
-
hi girls!
well life has been crazy with my parents in town last week (my mum and i went on a baby-soending spree which was great fun, and she bought us the Boori Sleigh cot - yippee!!), and it's about to get even crazier as we settle on our new house this fri, head up to the gold coast for the weekend, and then move into the new house next week!! exciting times!!
i went to cabrini to fill in my paperwork on monday night. another couple got their appointment date wrong and turned up and took our timeslot - doh! but it gave me plenty of time to look around the ward and admire all the brand new babies!! there were quite a few in the nursery for me to oogle, and in particular a set of twins who were lying next to each other in the same bed - aaawwwwhhh... when the other couple had finished we had our turn. the midwife we saw was wendy (same one that gave me the tour a few months ago) - she is so lovely - i hope she's there when i'm in labour!! anyway, she told us that all of the weekend antenatal classes are booked out already!! my DH can't make weeknight classes so i asked if we could attend the classes at a different hospital. she said they wouldn't have a problem with that, but i might have trouble finding someone to take me because they don't accept people from other hospitals at cabrini. i said that's fine, just book me into a weeknight course by myself then... i think she must have sensed that i was nearly in tears and said that she would squeeze us into one of the weekend classes even though it was already full - phew!! i actually would have preferred to go to the 5 weeknight classes as they're not as condensed, and there are less people in them - i hate my DH's stupid job - it always ruins everything!! aarrrgghhh!!!
don't see Dennis again for another 4.5 weeks when i go for my 19-week scan - woo hoo!! i'm lobbying my DH to see if we can find out the sex of the baby at the scan - i don't want to wait any longer!! and i'm sick of buying white and yellow stuff!!
how is everyone going? GiGi - you must be getting very close now - how exciting!!
Relle - have you been a doula for anyone yet? i dropped the doula idea into conversation again the other night and my DH still thinks it's totally unnecessary so i think it will just be the two of us in the delivery room. think i'm going to make him come to a calmbirth course with me beforehand though because i'm really quite scared about how i'll handle the whole childbirth experience, and the last think i need him doing is saying to dennis "can't you put her to sleep or something?"!!!
-
Hey all,
Ella - so good to hear from you! I have been checking this thread regularly and we have all been very slack!
Wendy is lovely isn't she - I remember her from last time. From memory though she doesn't do delivery....? unfortunately! Yay on getting into your classes - good that she took pity on you to squeeze you in. I hear you on buying all white and yellow - I am the same with not knowing. I have taken out my newborn stuff that i kept from Ella and also some boys stuff I was given and have washed it all and put it in the nursery just in case, so I have a wide selection of white, yellow, some blue and some pink, which will then have to be sorted out once I know wha the alien is!
Yes, not long for me to go now. am 36 weeks today and it's my last day of work, so that's good. am being looked after with morning tea and lunch and enjoying that so far. bit of work to do though so I should get on with it!
have been having some niggly crampy contractions, like my BH are getting stronger and will be asking Dennis about them when I see him tomorrow. I also want to ask him on whether the hollow shape around my belly button is a sign that this bub is posterior as Ella was - Relle - if you're around - have you heard that before? hopefully will get onto weekly visits with Dennis from tomorrow which would be good. feeling pretty good though and just getting ready to chill out and prepare for labour!
hope you are all well - and look forward to hearing your news!
Gigi
-
congrats on finishing work!! and enjoy the next few weeks of relative calmness before the little one turns your house upside down!!
-
Well saw Dennis today. Still not on weeklies!!! Not seeing him again until 38 weeks (so in a fortnight...) All good though and apart from the inevitable end of the road stretching, growing and general soreness I am feeling pretty good. One of the girls in my belly buddies thread started getting contractions yesterday so we are just waiting to hear the news!
hope you are all well - where are you girls???
Gigi xx
-
Hi girls,
Gigi- that is great to hear all is well, At least everything is going really well if you are not on weeklies! lol still would be nice to be on weeklies, so the countown is quicker iykwim!
Babe I am not sure about the posterior position. What did Dennis say about the possie of the bub? does he think it is posterior? If you think so, get on your hands and knees girls! lol You are so strong about not finding out the sex - I am not that strong at all!
How far along is the girl in your thread? Is she 36 weeks, or a bit further? I can't wait to have my thread starting to go into labour, how exciting!!!!!
Well Ros would be nearly back for Thailand by now, I bet she has had a wonderful time, can't wait to hear all about it.
Ella - Great to hear from you hun! Sweety, what a stress about the classes, I am so glad they worked something out for you. They are really great like that. Are you showing yet? I bet you are starting to count down till your scan. You have so much happening! Trips away, new house.
I completely understand about your DH wanting just the 2 of you. It is a very personal experience and different for everyone! I have not been to a birth yet, but I have 2 ladies due in May and then funnily enough, have to have my own baby! lol
I registered my business name - Supported Birthing, so I am pretty stoked about that!
My next visit with Dennis is Tuesday week, so still a while away and will be 27 weeks, so still on 4 weeklies for a while yet! lol
OK enough waffling, have a great night, hope everyone is well!
-
Hey Relle,
Great to hear from you!
I asked Dennis about the posterior thing and he said that to be honest the only time it is going to matter is when I am in labour and until then to just relax. He wasn't going to do an internal to satisfy my silly 36 week stress attack! So I was happy with that.....I asked him about my recollection of Ella's birth and that my understanding was that she was posterior as I recall the midwives saying they were going to use the syntocinin to "help turn her around" but he said that the forceps he ended up using were not the "turning right around kind" so she might have just been a little bit around...IYKWIM?
Anyway, all is good and just getting ready for the contractions to start! (fingers crossed another natural start....) Tam in our belly buddy thread is 37 weeks 5 days now - last we heard from her she was still at home with contractions but nothing really moving so we are waiting to hear the news! Very exciting though....I will be happy when I hit 37 weeks on Wednesday as then I feel that the alien can come any time...
Hey - Supported Birthing - love the name! I think that's fantastic Relle - well done.
Hope everyone else is well!
