Me, unfortunately. I go through some days of throwing up non-stop, and there are other days where I only dry retch. It's awful. Hang in there,it eases up for you at around the 3 month mark.
I have never dry retched so many times during pregnancy! With my last pregnancy if I dry retched I would vomit, this time I dry retch at least 10 times a day and only vomit once a day.
Not sure what I am asking for in response, I guess I am wanting to know if anyone else is like this?
Thanx

Mine always seems to be first thing in the morning so obviously i have nothing to throw up...so just end up heaving (sp?) a lot!
Hope it passes soon xo
Hellmy last pg with Mateauz...man I spewed in coles in the meat department to in one of my pg's.
Good luck with that![]()
Maz, yesterday on the way to IGA I dry retched on the way there and 3 times while shopping. Once I grabbed my bag and pushed my trolley to the side and was heading toward the loos, but didn't end up needing to go.
Oh yes! I was a dry reacher/ great spewer. It is horrible, but I really didn't worry about runny to the toilet when I knew I had an empty stomach, too much effort!!!
I hope you're feeling better soon, there is nothing worse during pregnancy!
Yes, with this pg!!!! It's sooo gross, isn't it. I almost couldn't open this thread, because of the title..........I thought it might make me do it againand I've been mostly retch-free for about 2 months.
Thing is even when I have a full stomach I dry retch and hold down full meals! Just cut up some onions and that set me off, but I brought up my watermelon (noice!)
I only dry retch after a sneeze (people say my sneezes sound like coughs) !......Weird.....but I sneeze a lot!![]()
Yes yes yes!!!
Ugh, sometimes I wish I'd just throw up instead of dry retching. I've had this daily since 5 weeks pregnant - and it hasn't gone away!!
It's not pleasant hey?
Sue xx
I dry-retched everyday, multiple times, during my pg for 6.5 months. It was truly horrible- not as horrible as actually vomiting, but painful and awful.
It was also associated for me with gagging- everything set me off, and I would gag and then dry retch. I would dry-retch on a full stomach too.
During the first three or four months, it was so bad that even talking made me gag and dry retch.
The frustrating thing is that there was nothing that could be done for gagging/dry retching. The anti-vomiting medication did zip all for that!
So, you're not the only one- I know how awful it is, and I sincerely hope it gets better for you soon.
Yep I am another who had the pleasure of dry retching all the time - I never vomited though. It would always happen if I smelt something yukky or whenever I rolled over in bed or on the couch etc....
I hope you enjoy the rest of your PG Tanya

I'm suffering the same thing right now so I totally sympathize. If I cough I retch, if I brush my teeth I retch, if I blow my nose I retch, if I smell something bad I retch. Sometimes I just start retching for no reason. Whew fun stuff! At least it's better than vomitting. Vomitting makes me feel like I'm going to pass out after, and if i have a full bladder it's not a good combination.
Yep, yep and yep. Been dry-retching like nothing else. Now I seem to have stopped actually vomiting, but still dry-retch. Changing DS' nappies seems to have the worst effect, my DP has been on poo duty whenever he's been home for a while now, but unfortunately DS doesn't poo on command so I haven't been able to avoid it LOL.
Fun, ain't it?
Today has been horrid. I've been retching all day long for no reason at all. Then my 2yr old DS came over to me and very sweetly gave me a big kiss. Unfortunately he had a bit of a runny nose and I got some booger on my lip. Well that sent me running to the toilet to throw up my lunch. At least I'm not so gaggy any more. Poor kid was just being nice too.
