Due Date HELP!!!!

I know there are probably heaps of people who ask the same question but i need to as well.

My first appointment is not till the 25th of march and it is the hospital that sets your due date.

SO i went for my first scan at 6 weeks and mu due date was the 26th of August

THEN i went for another scan yesterday and they said my due date was 22nd of August

so which one will they use???

I think they usually use the first one as thats the "dating scan" & is apparently the most reliable?

They'll use the earlier scan which showed an EDD of 26 August.

I don't trust those dating scans! I had one when pg with DD and they estimated her EDD to be the 28th of August. I knew that couldn't be right, I estimated she would be due around the 23rd based on when I think I O'd. When I looked at the measurements it looks like the guy left off her head LOL! The 12 week scan gave an EDD of the 22nd of August (like you ) and she was born on the 24th.

The hospital went with the dating scan though which made me feel a bit uneasy, but in the end she came out when I thought she was due anyway

usually the first, with DD2 I had my dating scan and got the 23rd August which is what i had worked out too, at a later scan i got told 28th august which i knew wasnt right. I ended up having her on the 22nd and if it wasnt an emergency c-sec she would have been born on her due date of the 23rd

They will go with the first, and thats a good thing it gives you a few days grace before they think about intervening.

I have been given a due date of the 25th August but both girls came early and although small not really as premmie as the other babies so I think the dating scans are always a few weeks out for me even though I am told that's impossible.
