Epo suppository, are you sure they'll dissolve properly?

    Hi ladies,
I've just started taking the RL tabs and Epo capsules & have used epo internally once, but I was nervous about it & only used one. I should be doing 2 daily internally I think but I'm scared they won't dissolve properly hehe
    I'm being silly right?

I didn't think you're supposed to use EPO internally until closer to your due date? I used it internally with DD from around 38weeks, I put a hole in the capsules with a pin and then inserted them and if they hadn't dissolved the next day i fished them out. Sorry that was way TMI lol.

I used them internally, I think 2 from about around 36 weeks and then 3 from 38 weeks onwards. They did dissolve, but I would suggest wearing old undies and a pad as the oil can leak out.

    Thanks girls
Shelly you're right, I'm starting a bit early, didn't think it would do any harm, maybe I'll just take them orally for now and hold off on the internal ones for a cpl weeks

I used 2 per night from about 36 weeks - I always found they fully dissolved. But wear a pad and expect a bit of oiliness. They are meant to help your cervix ripen to open (I think), so at 33 weeks you probably don't want to start ripening just yet.

I just started on Friday night. They definitely dissolve, but I did get a little surprise at the oily residue on the toilet water in the morning! I have been wearing a cloth pad to bed at night, it works better than a liner.

I think EPO acts like prostaglandins (the stuff in sperm and the stuff they make out of synthetic materials for inducing labour) which is why you are meant to wait until 36 weeks to start

Mine dissolved too - I only used them at night time though as I was going to bed and I knew I would by lying down. If you are upright then I would be worried they wouldn't dissolve and would just fall out again
