Finally sold the sports car and now got a mummies car

Well, We finally sold DH beloved sports car. It has been a long and very painful process, but we finally got a fair trade in deal with Macarthur Ford. We originally were looking at a Subaru RS Sports Wagon, but after been offered insulting trade in's at 3 Subaru dealerships particularly Tynan Subaru, we figured it wasn't meant to be. Just as well cause we ended up with a new Ford Mondeo Hatch and its got a bigger boot than the Subaru so it has all worked out well. Thank God! Now I can fit a pram (without having to take the wheels off) as well as not having to crawl through the front seat to get baby in and out of the car. We only had 2 door cars. My Fiesta's boot is way too small for the 4 wheeler off road pram that we ordered. Let alone fit any groceries or anything else in the car.
So now PRAISE GOD! the situation is sorted out and we should have our new Modeo arrive sometime this week! Its a load off I can tell you. I couldn't hold back the tears when the Ford Salesman said yes we can make this work for you. Still in a bit of shock cause to be honest the deals that Subaru were offering were not even close to the offer that Ford made. We are putting it down to Gods will. I guess he knew that we could get a better deal and a car that would suit us better if we just waited. And he was right.
I am so blessed to have a DH that was willing to give up his pride and joy without argument, although he still have his sports bike in the shed so he still has his toy. We are both so much happier knowing that the baby will be safer in the Modeo than my little Fiesta. This is the most important thing.

Congrats on getting a fair deal! Bless your hubby for being such a good sport about it! You'll all love your new car and baby will be safer and more comfortable (as will you be in the later stages of pg!) for it!

    Well done!

    ps: what colour!?

Thanks, yep it really was a load of pressure that came off. We chose a solver colour, but wont know if we will actually get the silver until tomorrow. Otherwise I picked a darker silver as a second option. Very classy car! The first thing we asked to see was the boot. When he opened the hatch we literally had to put our head inside the boot to see the end of it! Its a huge boot! and there is still heaps of room in the back seats. We are very happy with our new purchase. Can't wait to get it.
Your right DH is a champ, cause now he goes from driving a sexy, powerful, manual sports car to a little blue, girlie, automatic Fiesta. Although I think he will jazz it up a bit! And thats fine by me.

Great to have got it done and got yourselves a couple of good family cars, but my sympathies to your poor DH. I had to sell my gorgeous MX5 when I fell pregnant with DD#1. Obviously not an option to keep it but I really miss it sometimes, especially beautiful spring days like today.

That's great news puppies! DP & I had to swap cars which means I got the better deal (he's driving my 2-door getz and I'm driving the WRX STI cause it fits the pram in boot and the babyseat in the back seat!)

Laranna, we got good boys didn't we! So funny though cause the last 2 nights since we signed the contract DH has been surfing the 'go fast bits' websites looking for things he can do to the little Fiesta to butch it up a bit. So far I think he has asked Santa for a Sas seat (I think thats what its called) and probably a noisy sports exhaust. And because he was able to keep his fairly new DVD stereo player I bought him he is going to put it in the Fiesta but that means he has to put some cool dials and stuff in the dash as well cause he has to cut the panel to fit his stereo. I am like, 'oh ok honey you get what ever you want to'. Its quiet cute!
