Help - should I be worried?

    Hi,

I am 7 1/2 weeks and yesterday I caught a cold, today it has become the flu and I have a fever. I know I can take panadol in pregnancy to lower a fever, but my concern is the escalation of my morning sickness as the result of the flu (I think it's the mucous in my sinuses). I haven't been able to eat anything all day. I can't even have juice. Not only am I throwing up, but I also have diarrhoea and I am worried I will get dehydrated.

But it has only been one day. Does it warrant a trip to the doctor?
I'd rather not go out if I can stay home, but I don't want to ignore this either.

    Anyway, the loo calls!
    Thanks for your help!

I'd see how you're feeling in the morning & rest up as much as possible today. If it's not improving by tomorrow I'd definately go to the docs, even if only to ask advice.

I hope you feel better soon

Thank you both for your answers.
I don't want to overreact, it's not like I'm dying. But even the thought of a cracker or bit of juice sends me running to the loo!

    I guess I'll see how I go.

    Hi Gabi
I agree with the other girls. Rest today try to drink as much as you can even if it is only a few sips of water. If you have not improved tomorrow then it may be worth a trip to the doctor

If you get worse, don't be afraid to call in a locum. I had one visit a month or so ago when I was very sick with gastro. He gave me an injection of maxalon to help stop the vomitting and left 2 tablets to get me through the rest of the night and next day till I got to my own doctor.

Thank you! I'm not feeling too bad this morning and I'm going to attempt a few bites of food. Here's hoping it stays down!

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Gabi
Don't wory too much about food you can manage without it for a few days without doing any harm to your baby. At this stage fluid is more important.
