I found that doing through the hospitals it was bulk billed but if I did Gp and a clinic u/s etc then it cost me. Living in the country I found that I had to go through a private clinic for some u/s because the local hospital wasn't equipped for the type of u/s I needed inc the downs u/s. It sucked but thats just how it was.
