I think it measures about 1 cm from the pubic bone for each week. So 12 weeks could be anywhere from 10 - probably 15. All depends on how you measure & size of uterus. A multiple would probably be rediculusly over that iykwim...

For a multiple eg, a friend of mine went in at about 20 weeks. Fundal height should've been around the 20 mark...it was 36! Went for an emergency u/s thinking 4 weeks to go somehow, to find out she was having twins.

They always measured mine from right on the middle of the pubic bone. I remember well from my last pg. I had SPD (seperated pelvis) & it hurt like all buggery every time they did it.

it is not uncommon for teh uterus to still be inside teh pubic bone at 12 weeks with a singleton. and is acceptable to be up to 14-15 cm you cant measure it accurately untill 20 weeks really as the uterus is still quite small.

in a multiple pregnancy is can vary and most people will measure 5-15cm above the expected

In general they say that at 12 weeks your uterus will be just starting to grow higher than your pubic bone, so the fundus might be just poking over the top.
