I would eat unless they have told you otherwise. I ate with both my tests.. long and short. Id just stear clear of anything with sugar in it tbh. No juice, no jam etc for breaky. Just have some toast with vegemite and a glass of milk or water.
I ate a biscuit before my first one with DS and had to end up doing the long test as my level was 9.4! Long test came back fine.

    Best of luck with it.

From the royal college of pathologists Asutralia website. RCPA.

Info on the GCT- glucose challenge test -
The non-fasting patient drinks 50 g or 75 g glucose in a flavoured drink over ten minutes.

One hour after commencing the drink, a specimen of blood is taken for plasma glucose.
non-fasting- ie. you don't have to fast for this test.

The GTT- Glucose tolerance test is a different story, special diet required for 3 days prior, fasting etc.

I know some pathology places ask people to fast even for the one hour test, but from this information i would presume it is unnecessary. Maybe they do it to avoid having to do alot of unnecessary GTT. Uou are less likely to get a borderline result in a fasting patient compared to one who had hotcakes with maple syrup for breakfast.

was going to recommend you call pathology and see what they want but its prob too late now let us know how you go! and what exactly you had to do.

i went straight to the two hour test with fasting but no special diet before hand. ????

ali- did you feel sick when you were sitting there waiting for the hour?

the only reason i'm asking is that last time i didn't feel sick at all and failed the test, but this time i felt really sick- so am hoping that means i'll pass!
