Give me your 'gee your big' comebacks!

I'm starting to get sick of the 'gee your big', 'you sure there is only 1 bub in there', you going to give birth to a toddler' comments, I'm 6 months pregnant, I'm meant to have a belly!

Anyway, was just wondering what good comebacks others had for these people?

I use to say to some people "what do you expect I am x weeks pregnant" in a laughy voice. Sometimes I would say "yeah i really should lay off the dounuts i am starting to look like i am pregnant" Then one one occasion I was in a bad mood and I coped a comment from a heavier person and I just said back "at least I have an excuse" - mind you I practically ran away after that for fear of being beaten to a pulp

Hehe, I get this sh*t all the time. I'm quite petite and my bump is large.

I say to people "well, that's funny because my Dr measured me the other day and I am measuring right on target".

I'd also really love to say "I'm pregnant, what's your excuse?" but I don't have the guts.

One of my work colleagues (who is massively overweight) told me that I was "waddling" the other day and I was so close to saying "yeah but I'm pregnant, what is your excuse". But I didn't. Never mind the fact that SHE had just offended ME by telling me that I was waddling (which I hear from other people that I most certainly DO NOT waddle).

Ugh, I wish people would shut the #$%^ up. I used to get people's unwanted advice and opinions when it came to my infertility - now it's about my pregnancy!!!!

    Hugs, I feel your pain

I get the 'gee your big' comment too, I even had one women tell me 'gees your fat now'!!!!

Usually I just say 'well there is a baby in there' but once I did get pretty ****y and said, 'well I will give birth but you'll always be ugly'.

Oh man I've copped so many of those comments lately.
'Your bumps way bigger this time, this kids gonna be huge!'
Its even more annoying because I'm measuring about 5cm smaller than last time? With Munchkin I was always 2-3cms ahead and this little one is about 2-3cms behind.

I don't know if its end of pregnancy impatience/irritation but I usually just grump at them. Sadly nothing witty as yet, maybe next time.

But I don't know about you guys, I kind of find it rude when someone tells me I'm going to have a 'huge baby'. Last time I checked, I was just having a baby.

I had the same thing! (although I secretly thought I was bigger too)
Funny thing DD1 was 2987g and DD2 was 2900g, and only 3 days between gestation.

Oh Kel, I feel for you, it is the only time that I did not like being pregnant, when people gave unwanted comments/advice.
Don't let them get to you just enjoy your lovely 'big' bump .

    1) "your just jealous 'cus my beer belly kicks back"
    2) if you think i'm big now - wait till you see me after i've eaten!
    3) yep, im loud, and proud and gettin' round. but growing a human will do that to you
    4) not sure how many, the aliens didnt tell me that before they took off again.
    5) at least i know WHEN i'll drop alot of the waight. sadly you dont.
    6) pregnancy makes you glow, jealousy only turns you green.

dont worry about 'em. i was "huge" but never felt it. and i looked at it this way - they have all the more of me to admire

I've been heading people off at the pass....mostly the 1st question I get is "how far along are you", to which I reply "I'm xyz weeks, but I'm HUGE", so that they don't get a chance to insult me first.

My mum is probably the worst culprit, and it's not helped by the fact that my sister is a week ahead, but barely even looks pregnant, so it's kind of like Mum thinks she's doing a "good" pregnancy, and I'm not. Mind you, she's a completely different body shape to me, taller, bigger boned, and a couple of sizes larger to start with...but I'm all tummy, and it's been out there very early this time around.

I wish I did have a good comeback though, I'm feeling yuck enough as it is, without having people kind of confirm it for me, even if they don't quite mean it as it comes out.

    Good one Dansta.

I could never think of anything witty either. My SIL and a work mate, both of which were quite overweight themselves were the worst culprits. I used to either agree, because I did look huge and always measured ahead by a few weeks, OR say something like "gee thanks, every pg woman wants to be told that"

FWIW I loved being big, it showed my pg really early, made it obvious I was pg not just fat and I felt really proud of my big tum. Embrace it I reckon!

I said that to my FIL when I was PG once.... haha he had noooo idea what to say back!!! he was teasing me about my belly! (he has a beer gut hehe)

Just say to them 'well bub is exactly just right for me!" and ignore their annoying comments... unfortunately when you are PG everyone seems to think they have a right to comment on your size but when you arn't preg its different ?!?

Maybe say to them "I'm not pregnant" with a blank stare.... see what they say hehe
