Good websites or books for dads-to-be?

I'm hoping that someone can help me out with this one. My wonderfully clueless DH just asked me 'have you put on weight... you're looking a little bigger'. Well, of course I am - I'm pregnant, silly! He didn't mean for it to sound so callous but it didn't go down well.

I'm after some website or book suggestions for DH to read that help him to understand what's going on with my body and mind, and where the baby's up to, and what he should keep in mind over the next 7 months until the baby's here. I read him this week's info from my iPregnancy app and he said 'is there a website with more information like that' and although I've googled it, I am struggling to find a really good resource!

So please, throw your suggestions here before he gets himself into more trouble!

There's an aussie book called "So you're going to be a dad" by Peter Downey. I couldn't get my DH to read it, but I read parts of it to DH and he enjoyed it.
There's also a section for dads on "what to expect when you're expecting" which is good, and there's a Steve Biddulph book (available on the BellyBelly site, or used to be) called "Raising a happy child" which is worth reading.

Thanks Kazbah! I'll get to Borders tomorrow and check out your suggestions. I don't think DH will do much of the reading but I'm happy to pick out bits so I can read them to him and we can discuss afterwards... Gosh, I sound like a parent rather than a wife! Ah well, whatever works

"Dad's Pregnant Too!" by Harlan Cohen is good too

Thanks Krystals for the suggestion. Borders only had the Peter Downey book, I'm about half-way through at the moment and it's actually a very good read. DH was impressed that the author started out saying 'this is just one opinion - you need to decide for yourself what your viewpoints are', DH doesn't take well to being preached at.

i also got my DH that book, its very good, he seems to really enjoy reading it - im currently 27 weeks pregnant, and when we found out we were pregnant i think he was annoyed that most books were aimed towards the mum and there was nothing for him to read...at least that book tells him about being a dad/going to be a dad

I liked the peter downey one too, I found it a better read than the Kaz cooke ones aimed at women

"Dad's Pregnant Too!" by Harlan Cohen is good too

This is a great book - my DH read it right through and he's subscribed to the weekly newsletter (so did I, just to see what info he's getting each week ). Just google Dad's pregnant too

It's quite cute - there's also lots of tips about how not to be an accidental a**hole. DH has been really good, though the other day he pointed out my stretchmarks, then back tracked, saying he shouldn't have said anything and it doesn't make a difference.

I also bought his David Vernon's "Men at Birth" and he read a lot of the stories in it until he felt he had information overload.

Another good thing for men is the Beer and Bubs information nights run at pubs in most capital cities. Google that - it's very good value.
