The later in pregnancy you get the less accurate dating is. it is your first trimester scan that gives the Best EDD.
Hi All,
For those who have had their bubs I just wanted to know how accurate the ultrasound due dates were compared to your last period due date?
I have had a few scans during this pregnancy and my LMP due date is 12th Sept - my first few scans wernt too far off this but I had to go for one today which I am now 39w2d and its estimate now is like 10 days behind..
Estimate weight is 7lb 3oz I am not a big person and they even said today bub has pretty much no room left hence why movements are at its lowest. Im thinking maybe the further you go the less accurate they may be due to the size and not being able to get proper measurements??
Thanks ladies
xoxo

the further along the pregnancy the less accurate
as we had no due dates for my daughter and my first U/S was at 12w3d they just guesstimated from there and when she was born they guessed she was 6 days early
having said that with my 3rd my dates were inconsistant with my LMP and my last 4 U/S he measured a week behind my LMP and when he was born they must have calucated he was 3 weeks early not 2 weeks
my LMP had him at June 27th 2011 but my first U/S was july 5th 2011 so i took my 2nd U/S at july 2nd (fear of going over due to a crappy pregnancy)
but as i said he was 3 weeks early so all dates were off lol
