    Hand, Foot and Mouth disease

My 2 yo DS had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease last week and is now almost fully recovered. When we took him to the doctor last week, we asked if it was an issue for me being 17 weeks pregnant. The doctor said not to worry because I was highly unlikely to catch it and if I did it was only an issue around time of delivery as I could pass it to my newborn. But this afternoon I have found a small dot on one of my fingers and now I am freaking out as when I Googled I found a few websites that said there could be a small risk of miscarriage.
Does anyone know anything about HFM and pregnancy or has anyone had it during pregnancy and was it an issue?

    Thanks.

hi, my 5yo and 1yo had hfm when i was roughly 30 weeks pg, i was reasured that i and baby would be fine and the risk of anything happening was more for the ones in the first 12 weeks of pg.
    hope this helps somewhat.

DS had it while I was preg and I caught it off him. It wasn't an issue and I and bub were fine. I think the miscarriage risk is more of a concern in the first trimester.

I was very newly pregnant when DS1 got HFMD two years ago (I didn't know I was pg at the time), and there was no issue.
If you're worried, I'd suggest you talk to your GP or Ob for reassurance.
