Has Anybody had this type of pain before??

Since about 17 or 18 weeks, i've been getting this really excruciating pain on my right ribs... the pain has been increasing, at first I would get it late afternoon, and after going to bed with the pain, by morning it would be gone, now it seems to stay with me for most of the day... Does anybody know what this pain could be? The only relief I get is by applying a bit of heat and having a lie down.. Some people have told me that its the baby pushing up into my ribs, but I dont think its that.. Any help would be appreciated... thanks

I would go to the doc and get it checked (or you could ring nurse on call for now) but if its an excruciating pain it could be something that needs to be treated medically. Atleast it would put your mind at ease more.
    Sorry im not much help!
    Good luck

What u may be experiencing is bubbies feet or hands up near ur rib cage....yes its quite painful and annoying, what u can try to relieve it is sit on the floor up against a wall or something and stretch your arms up above your head just til u feel some relief...baby should move for you!
    hope this helps!

    Thanks for you replies...

After talking to my obs, he said that the position that the baby is in, it might be sitting on a nerve that is causing the pain as its not a one off pain, its every day from about noon right through to when I go to sleep... I am realing hoping that bubs changes positions sometime soon as its unbareable most times... Keeps us from visiting or doing things in the evening... bit of a pain in the neck..

    Thanks again..

Hmm sorry to say Lisa I had bad right rib pain during the second half of my pregnancy, it was because DD's feet were under my ribs. Sitting an my desk, driving etc all really hurt. I found going for a walk helped, and lying down with my right arm above my head...

The pain didn't go until DD was born... Hang in there
