has anyone ever gotten a BFN after AF was due only to get a BFP a few days later?

i have been TTC for 3 months and AF was due yesterday. i usually get it right on time, and was expecting it in the morning, i tested yesterday (not very reliable test, had thrown out the instructions) and got a BFN. woke up this morning expecting it again, and it didn't come, but tested (not with 1st morning urine) with a first response and got a BFN.
When I fell pg with DD1, I had absolutely no idea I was UTD until I went to the hospital one morning with a raging bladder infection - the nurse did a pg test as is their routine and gave us the good news. Later that day and the next morning I did tests at home, and both came up negative - it wasn't until the day after that, when I tried one more time (after convincing myself the nurse was delusional and had imagined the 'faint positive'), that it came up positive. The reason I had no idea was because I had continued to menstruate, so assumed no way was I UTD.
So, not exactly the same situation as you're in, but keep trying - if you're usually on time, maybe you will get your BFP this time around!
Yes- this happened to me with DS1. I tested on day 32 of my cycle and got a BFN, then I waited until day 37 (5 days later) and got a BFP.
The temptation is hard to resist, but if I were you I would wait at least a few days. It can be frustrating to spend your money doing loads of tests just to get a period a few days late- which can happen sometimes due to stress, hormonal changes etc. The longer you go without your period, the stronger that positive is going to be!!
Like the others said, it can happen. I was getting BFN's when AF was due, and then for about 5 days afterwards I was getting an extremely faint line - even DH couldn't see it - he thought I was making it up! But then I finally got a BFP and now I have only 3 weeks to go till bubs arrives.
If you are able to be patient and wait a few days, that is the best way, but I was a serial POAS and tested every day!
It can happen, esp if you didn't use the morning urine & AF is only just due.
With this bubs I had blood test & did urine test at docs office, both neg (was checking for other reasons). Then when AF didn't show up I took a couplde tests....the first two very faint, waited a bit longer & it was a definate positive. It was just too early to show up previously.
Yep!! Happened with me too, for both No#1 &3. Turns out conceived on about days 24 & 25... so I didn't get a +ve for ages, I didn't know what was going on.

Yep!! I got 2 BFN after AF was due, then changed brands of PT and got a positive about 6 days after AF was due. Don't know it the different brand PT was an issue though. It was very annoying at the time because I knew I was pregnant!!!! GRR!!!
