    Heartburn?

OK.. i know nothing about heartburn. Is this what I have??

I've got a general discomfort leading up to my throat.. but I wouldnt' describe it as burning. Lying down with DS just now putting him to sleep, I had a bit of reflux and thought yuck!

I've had this the last couple of days. But today I've been feeling pretty off, as if my sugar levels are fluctuating - feel better when I eat - but I seem to have this constant discomfort, and constant little burps!

Is this heartburn? What can I take? We have some mylanta, but the site says to ask my dr if pg or breastfeeding before taking it, and I'm both. I'm dreading going to sleep tonight now, coz I don't wanna be burping up stomach acid!

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

OK.. just looked up Rennie - seems this is ok to take in pg.. and different from mylanta. Looks like I just stick to my ginger tea for tonight until I pick some up.

I've got one word for you:

    GAVISCON!!!

Perfectly safe in pg, forms a plug which keeps your tummy contents in your tummy and also has a soothing action. But get the peppermint one (aniseed is gross).

I had terrible heartburn & couldn't stand the taste of chewing the tablets & those gross drinks etc. I found TUMS at the supermarket, they were featured in many of the parenting mags - they actually don't taste too bad so I was able to cope with that & worked instantly.

Im the rennies queen - carry them in my handbag, they are on my bedside table, they are in the bathroom. I have instant relief when i chew on two. Perfectly safe to take during preg/bf.

Im like you.........some nights i dread going to sleep, and even eating, coz i know the heartburn is going to bite me on the bum !

Thanks everyone - well the night didn't turn out to be so bad afterall thank goodness. I grabbed some Rennie today just in case!

hmm... I ran out of milo the other day so wasn't having my nightly cold milo - perhaps the milk theory was keeping it at bay all that time! heh.

Ouchies - the pain! I woke up last night about 3am with an absolutely burning stomach. It came in waves travelling up behind my chest Almost felt like stomach ache when I've eaten something bad. I popped 2 rennies and it was fixed! omg! these are miracle pills! LMAO. Bit chalky to chew on in the middle of the night.. but didn't taste too bad.

Gosh - I had none of this when pg with DS. Oh the joys

Sleeping a little elevated helps sometimes too. When pg with DD I ended up sleeping virtually like I was sitting up in bed. But turns out it was mainly coz of the PE too. I was a quick eze girl until my Dr gave me ranitidine.
