    Default Help with Progesterone Level

I am having some slight bleeding with this pregnancy yet again!

I am having my HCG and progesterone levels done.

My progesterone levels have dropped but are still in the good zone, so was just wondering if anyone can tell me that they are still good and not to worry with the drop?

My HCG's are good and comparable with my single successful pregnancy of my son.

I will list my levels below:

    4 weeks - HCG 220, Progesterone 54
    4 weeks 6 days - HCG 2800, Progesterone 45

I am now 5 weeks 1 day and will have another level done on Monday, which will be 5 weeks 4 days.

Is there a reason why the progesterone levels drop. Is there anything I can do to keep my progesterone levels up???

Thanking you all in advance for your help.

    Shereejoy,
When doing IVF they like progesterone to be above 40. You can get progesterone pessaries and suppositiories which are usually used in IVF cycles. They give many people who do IVF progesterone just so they cover all bases. I don't think you can get anything over the counter although I have heard about people using a progesterone cream.

Thanks anney, so mine being above 40 is ok then? Does it matter that it has dropped from 54 to 45?

    Sheree,
I am no expert but my understanding is that for the first 12 weeks, until the placenta takes over there is no big rise in progesterone levels and I think progesterone levels fluctuate throughout the day so that change may mean nothing. Your HCG is the main thing they look at and yours is rising well.
I am not saying this to worry you but - I have a box of progesterone pessaries in my cupboard, which I will not be using. i could send them to you if that would help ease your worrying. Apparently you can't give yourself too much progesterone.
