Sally - Congrats on your little baby boy and well done for getting through that pregnancy and the bedrest. I will be in your shoes towards the end, at least 6 weeks bedrest and deliver by 34 weeks.

Mama spice - hope your scan goes well.

Beema - yay! glad cervix was good, and all other checks went well.

Black Roase - Yay! 34 weeks, well done!!!

Crumpet - glad it went well, rest Hun.

afm - New world record, I had to wait 2 hours in the antenatal clinic for my very quick 10 min appt, had my kids with me, they were so bored, I was so annoyed.
'Pip Squeak' has grown, they did a really quick glance scan. Measuring to dates exactly still, and bubs was so active, it was wriggling around all over the place, it was so cute. Heartbeat measured 164 bpm, 2 weeks now till NT scan.
Kids saw the scan today, they were amazed, especially when the registrar told them the baby was waving at them

    take care all

High Risk Pregnancy ~ General Discussion and Support

Hi girls just thought I would give you an update, I am in hospital on bed rest. It seems my waters started leaking on Friday and I was having contractions. They finally stopped and my cervix is closed but bubs is engaged. My ob isnt sure what is happening as I shouldn't be leaking as my cervix is 2.1cm long, but I am leaking something. So I am having tests done and will have another ultrasound tomorrow morning.

Big black_rose, I am glad the ctx have stopped and your cervix is closed, it is shortening, but at this stage of pregnancy not surprising. My leaking the other week ended up being just a lot of cervical fluid, my OB was really surprised when all the tests can back negative for infection and it wasn't amniotic fluid.... I hope things stay stable for you and there is still plenty of fluid around bubs, will be thinking of you when you have your US tomorrow
Also congrats on buying a house, we jsut sold ours, past the colling off period now and waiting for August 12 for settlement

ButterflyForever ~ how frustrating having to wait so long for your appointment grrr, but what an amazing time for your children to see your bubba and everything is sounding great

Mamaspice ~ How did your grwoth scan go on Friday, I hope everthing was working as it should be, for having to be on so much insulin, hopefully it gets you through to FT.

Sally ~ I was so happy to hear that Archer had arrived safely and what a wonderful job Sal did baking for the extra 10 weeks, just amazing, it was one of the "good news" stories I gave my OB the other day as I had mentioned a few not so good one's lately and she was pretty darn impressed with how long the pregnancy lasted! How is Archer going now, hopefully the rest of his stay will be short and he will be home with all of you very soon.

crumpet ~ Hope you are doing well hun, and resting up

AFM ~ generally doing well, Friday night was horrid spent the night on the couch lying down, must have had some big sifts in my body as I struggled to walk and the pelvic instability flared up, at one stage we though we were looking at ctx not BH's, but what ever it was settled back down am thinking it was jsut everyting moving and adjusting and I managed to get to sleep int he early hours of the morning. Other than that it feels as though I have a foot almost permeanently in my cervix, I swear this baby is going to kick their way out, so am hoping bub moves into a Celphic position soon again as it is really not comfortable as well. Hoping for a nice calm week so I don't end up seeing my OB until my scheduled appointment

Thinking of you all and hopefully everyone is still baking in another week or two at least!!!

    thanks hun...see below

ouch sorry to hear ur having a bit of a struggle with the pelvic pain.... hope that doesnt get to much worse for u, thankfully there wasnt any contractions!
good luck making it to ur next appt, ive already had to harass my OB before my appt this thursday!
AFM the scan went well. Bub is cephalic Fluid levels and cord flow are good Bub is measuring 2 weeks ahead he's about 5lb 8oz apparently. The sonographer said he's up the very top end of the normal range.
can i please ask whats the cephali position???

god i have so much to learn!! ask me about morning sickness or a cervix and im right anything else and i get lost!

sounds like he is a great weight!!!

AFM: im still in my usual pozzie on the couhc, making a nice dent thats for sure!

all seems to be going well.... now!

on friday morning i woke up with a horrid pain in my lower back only on the right hand side. so took some panadol and layed down and it hadnt gone so i called the OB and his first question was "pklease tell me your ok?" yep great just thought id call to say hi seeing i havnt seen or spoken to u for a few days! told him bout my back and he thought it was uterus pain, which apparently u can feel in ur back, mainly from thing moving and shaking into place after my stitch.... ok call im ok with that.
by the afternoon it had died off so i was cool with that.
then i took my usual dose of tablets at 5 and within a hr my feet face and hands were bright red boiling hot and itchy.... hmmmm weird but thought it was a once off, was gone within 2 hrs.
midnight i had my dose and by 1 i was awake some problem but i was really on edge and feeling weird.... waited till the morning and called the hospital who told me to call my OB which i wanted to avoid being a saturday.... so called and he thinks the nifedipine was causing it, and now i think back a similar thing happened when i was in hospy with Gus but i didnt notice coz i was so sick with the infection....
so im now on one 20mg dose a day and then my anti biotics 3 times a day till im done, ill be off the nifedipine on thursday when i see my OB and then back on the progesterone...

    other than that im good!

I am the same with my OB, which is why I generally wait until the next morning and their office opens before I call, even though I have her mobile, I feel that I will only call in the middle of the night or ona weekend if it has really gone to craps

21 weeks, counting down for you

Crumpet - So glad your OB was also available to you and all seems to be ok. What a worry you too have had. hugs

Butterfly forever - I wait forever when I have my hospital appts, its such a pita, especially when you have to see more than one DR, it takes even longer. GL with your NT scan in a couple of weeks my morph scan is a couple of weeks too. hugs

Mamaspice - Yay for your u/s, so glad all turned out ok with bubs position and size. Little V was 5pd 3oz when born at 38wks, so your little bub is already bigger by the u/s. hugs

TBH I am the same when i see my OB, and say you know I don't know if it is normal or not, because seriously I don't know if it is normal pregnancy stuff even though I have been there before it is different and we tend to forget, but I can usually tell by the look on her face if I should have been more worried than not pity more often it has been the concerned look and usually followed by more testing or drugs!!!

csab, I hope you are feeling better soon hun

Morning everyone! Just popping in quickly.

Blackrose, I hope all is well with you and bubs and that you're getting plently of rest.

Csab, hope you're feeling better now too!

Crumpet and Beema, I'm glad you are both traveling well. It sounds like you both have great Ob's And good luck with your scan tomorrow Crumpet!

Sally, good to hear Archer is progressing so well. Yay for coming home soon

AFM, all going okay. I have my antenatal appointment tomorrow. I went to the loo in thew early hours of this morning and I didn't flush as I didnt want to wake up DD. Anyway, when DH went to the Loo he commented on the dark colour of my pee. SO I did a dip stick test this morning and it showed up positive for protein. Not a huge amount but one level abouve trace. it's a once off and when I go to my appointment tomorrow it's all good. I've got a very slight headache today but that might just be psychological, lol. I really hope I'm not getting PE though. Time will tell I guess.

Aww MamaSpice, how are you going hun, how was your appointment today? I so hope that it doesn't develop into PE, keeping positive for you hun. Thinking of you

Crumpet, what a brilliant cervix, 4cm that is truely brilliant, so happy for you, it must be so much more relief to have the stitch in place as well, so glad things are settling for you and Congratulations of what looks like a little girl I am sure her big brother Gus will be protecting her. Goodluck with your next OB appointment

WTG Archer, to be back to your birthweight already what a clever little boy you are, It took DD a month to get back to 2.3kg, I can't believe you are holding a little boy the same size my DD was Brilliant news to hear the NGT is out, one step closer to going home, we took DD home at 35 weeks 1 day and it scared the crap out of me and it was hard but we got there in the end.

AFM ~ Nothing new to report - how fabulous is that, I did have BH's last night, but that was because I went to a funeral yesterday afternoon and there was over 250 people there and had to stand for the hour service, so I definitely know that it isn't an option to do that again as the Nif didn't help at all and I took it at the right time too.

Take care all and hope to hear some good news from all of our Mumma's and Bubba's!!!!
