Gee Crumpet hun, by the sounds of it we both couls end up having bubs earlier than expected. Do as your told hun and stay rested. Bed rest ok. TBH I am actually abit worried if my bub doesnt gain like they want that they end up putting me in hospy on bed rest. I have heard a few stories about people with bub who are IUGR they sometimes put them in hopsital on bed rest to see if that helps get bubs to gain weight.. Will be interesting to see where bubs at next week.
Now dont do anything else hun and let Dh look after you. Hugs hun.

Well afm, had my education class for the night time injections and my goodness the injection device is like this huge dial, which looks a bit scary but is pretty much ok, just looks scary.hehehe. Anyhow thats it for me today. Hope everyone is ok.

    Hi all

Crumpet - sorry about the cervix news, it's so worrying isn't it. Glad she has turned though. I have to do the bed rest soon as well. Sorry had a laugh about the iron (just the way you worded it), you poor thing, you'll have to dose up on senna, as well. Pooer you with the placenta performance, you'll never see these people again, doesn't matter what they think.

Csab - what a performance with the appt's, at least you are getting well looked after. Wow a baby in a few weeks time, hope you are prepared.

afm - Here's the story so far. I have had a stressful few weeks of worrying after they told me at the 20 week ultrasound that my c-section scar was only measuring 2mm thick. I have had a couple of subsequent scans and my Ob has assured me that the Sonographer has measured the wrong bit, the scar today was 1cm (10mm) thick, the guy last time had measured a portion of the uterus that sits much lower down, and apparently is quite thin at this stage of the pregnancy. I have also had to spent a night in hospital about 10 days ago just with scar pain, I needed a scan the next day. The Sonographer then told me I had a shortened cervix, only measuring 2.1cm, so I have had 10 days of worry waiting for my Ob to come back of his Hols. Today at my scan, the cervix now looks long and closed (about 3cm). So don't know what is going on there. I am going to be totally grey by the time this pregnancy is done. I am still having to take it easy at the mo, and am trying to rest up a little, although this isn't easy with 4 kids 7 and under, and just having the 2 weeks school hols. I will see the Ob again in 2 weeks, but think bed rest in hospital will be soon, probably from about 28 weeks on. I too will be delivering early, aim to get me too 34 weeks.

    take care all

Gee hun, I hope you dont need to end up in hospital on bed rest, but if it keeps bubs in side for longer than 34wks than it is the best thing. Gee the gray hairs have quadrupled for me, lol. It sounds like they are keeping a close eye on you too. Which is a good thing. Im glad the u/s's came back alot better for you this time though, all that stress isnt good for any of us even bubs. Mkae sure you keep resting up. Hugs

I've finally got back in to see how you are all tracking along!!

Crumpet ~ WOOOOOOHOOOOOO for 30 weeks tomorrow!!!! How are you going being on rest, it is hard, you will have good and bad days and that it ok, just when you have the bad days keep telling yourself that things will look brighter again soon. People think it is easy but it isn't, to be told you can't do x,y & z is frustrating. I hope your stitch behaves no moving!

Csab ~ WOOOOOOO HOOOOOO for 30 weeks!!!!! Bugger about having to keep upping the insulin I hope your next growth scan, shows bub still growing even if on the lower end as long as there is still growth and dopplers are good, bub will be safe to be tucked up inside. 35 weeks + is still a good time to aim for, and hopefully your LO does the right things and youg et get a bit further.

BF ~ 3cm is a good length and I am glad to hear that it is still nicely closed, mine was pretty much the same length around that time and I got to 35 weeks I hope you don't end up in hosy on rest, rest up as much as you can at home that way hopefully you can avoid going in, it is so much better to be at home. fab news on your scar thickness as well!!, how frustrating for there to be so much variation in the measurements, certianly causing a lot of stress they don't need to Take care hun and hopefully you can go for 35 weeks as well.

I know how hard and stressful this journey can be and I truely hope you can all make it well into the 30's the good thing is youa re all being monitored and your bubba's and every day counts, I hope all your bubba's can avoid NICU and maybe even SCN!! I'll be your positivity queen!!

AFM ~ we received the pathology report back on the placenta, and it was SGA (small for gestational age) no surprise there. There was also a large blood clot, which is the culprit for all my later bleeds and a good thing I was on rest for so long. The rest I will go through with my OB at my 6-8 week checkup. I think I will also have to have a debrief about my pregnancy, while I didn't go through the NICU rollercoaster the whole pregnancy was very difficult mentally and emotionally, and there are a lot of things I am going to have to deal with and just thinking about them makes me quite emotional

Anastasia is doing well, gaining weight and generally eating and sleeping, feeding 3-4 hourly, sooo much easier than the 24/7 feeding/expressing regieme we had with N,the extra 2 snd a bit weeks made a huge difference. It is a completely blissful experience

Must run it is feeding time again
    Take care and Bellyrubs

    see below for my update!
and hun i think ur right i think im going to beat u to the finish line!

yep bit of humour helps i rekon!

thanks hun!! so good to see you back!!
bed rest is defintely loosing its appeal and its now showing, see my update below. its very frutrating to be told u cant do this or that when u feel perfectly capable of doing it, but as they say "it will all be worth it when she is here"

little miss A is just DEVINE!!!! OMG she is making me soooooooo clucky, like i needed any help
so glad things are going well for you guys....

hun you had a tough tpugh pregnancy no one can blame u for being emotional about it!

    AFM:

so ive just had my 30w OB appt....

i should start off by telling u i was in hospital monday last week for monitoring becasue of no movements, baby girl was fine, just lazy like her daddy!
then on friday arvo and saturday morning i had some bleeding, not alot but enough to notice it and need a liner....
called my OB, and got me into the hospital and had more monitoring and some bloods.

so fast forward to today, and the follow up details!

so my BP is up on normal ( yayyy!!!) 110/60 so still low but a load better than 90/40 2 weeks ago!
im now 1kg OVER my starting weight!! **** its happening!! im getting to be a whale!!! in 2 weeks ive put on 1.3kg!! fark me!!
in 2 weeks my fundal height has grown 3cm AGAIN so i now measure 34weeks!!!!

    now the fun stuff....
so we went over the bloods from saturday and they were fine, compelely negative which meant the bleed was from either my cervix or my whoo harr....
so he decided we would do a internal to see whats going on....
so he poke...s around and my stitch has started surfacing, which looks to be the cuase of the bleed. this ok, not ideal coz its not meant to happen until the late 30's not at 30weeks. my cervix has shortened in 2 weeks from 2.4cm to approx 1cm from the stitch down so at a guess he thinks it would be 1.9cm and thats being generous. her head is on my cervix so he thinks thats why ive had the bleeding coz she is putting so much pressure on there, and she is engaged as well, no wonder i feel funny when i walk and i have a sore fanny!
so she is engaged and ready to go.
the aim now is for 2 more weeks, and while he *thinks* ill get there, at the same time he wont be surprised if i dont, so really anytime from now she will be here.
if i have anymore bleeding he wants me in to see him, any contractions and we have to get the stitch out, and im on weekly appts instead of fortnightly ones now.

so if she comes between now and 32 she will more than likely spend time in NICU but if she comes after 32 he said he would expect her to go straight to special care.

the chances of going to 37 are now nearly non exisitent, basically it would be a miracle!

so looks like ill be meeting my little girl before we know it, well in 2 + weeks i hope!!

so im off to look around the premmie threads to see what info i can arm myself with to try and prepare DH and I for what we might be facing.
