How did you keep all of your pregnancy 'papers' organised?

    Hi all,

I'm not even 7 weeks yet and already I've collected a heap of pregnancy related paperwork. From test results to medical bills to medicare information, it's creating an unseemly pile on my kitchen table. We had friends pop over on Friday night and had to do a quick hide of EVERYTHING. Good thing they didn't look in the cutlery drawer, as Juniors little picture from his first scan was in there!

So how did you keep all of your papers organised? Is there a trick I should know?

    Cheers,
    Fiona

Fiona - I was given a VMR (victorian maternity Record) at my first Ob appointment - or modwife appointment - im sure you will get one - your ob writes in it every appointment and so does your midwife, it also allows you to put in all other pre related print outs that you have - then its all in one place. I also have a plastic pocket type thing that has handles and a few compartments that I keep other stuff in all in one spot. Hope that helps!

I would just file them in a medical folder, you could even sort it down further to medical receipts and pregnancy info etc but I have much more fun ripping apart things looking for that one paper That being said I am sure I have stacks of pregnancy related papers shoved in my uhoh company's coming cupboard When I was pregnant with Noah it all just got shoved into a big shopping bag and added to until he was about 8 months old. It really just depends on how organised your are or want to be really. You just might want the receipts well organised for medicare purposes.

Any excuse to go to OFFICEWORKS!!!! I put it all in a Slimpick Wallet foldery type thing. Easy to shove stuff in and it has a foldover lid...and there is all the purdy colours....

My midwife gave me one of those plastic sleeve folders to put all the relevant stuff in.

I do the same thing. I write down any questions I have on the notepad as well so that I remember to ask my midwife.

I was anal... anything that was info only went into one folder (I even had that seperated into trimesters, nursery equipment, hospital info ).

All bills went in with our other bills to be paid but receipts went into a maternity receipt file.

Pathology slips, appointment cards, ultrasound slips went into my diary so I had them when I needed them.

Results went into a results folder.

Contact info was in triplicate - one in my wallet, one by the phone and one in my diary... then there was the one in the car and also the one on my desk at work (just in case I lost all memory in the excitement of things happening and couldn't remember numbers of people such as DH, Ob, Student Mid, the hospital )

Samples went in a little box for if/when I needed them.

I just put my stuff on our notice board.
We didn't really have that much stuff, so it wasn't all cluttered up.
As for the little printed out pictures from the ultrasounds we got. I stuck them on the wall with bluetack like a timeline and I looked at them everyday.
