Nimra with both my pregnancies i've had low iron & hemoglobin. My levels usually sat around 4-7 for iron & 70-80 for hemoglobin.
I know how hard it is & i really hope you can find something to help you out
    Dear Phoenix

Would you please write me How you managed your labour with such low Iron low levels.
I am really scared.I have impression i won't be able to push and will be keep passing out till baby comes.

I am thirty three weeks pregnant and thought of birth shivers me to death. I have all negative things in my mind ( contributed to anemia depression).

No clue how to calm me.I didn't enjoy a single day of this pregnancy neither did any shopping because of lack of energy. Its poor hubby he is shopping every thing, all wrong sizes, all wrong colors

    Lots of Hugs

Nimra not sure how i coped, i guess my body just did what it needed to do to keep my energy levels up. Make sure you keep fluids up, drink some Gatorade.
Both my labours have been really great experiences despite my low levels & i'm sure yours will to

You will do great, let your midwives know you have low iron levels & i'm sure they will keep a close eye on you. I'm sorry you haven't been able to enjoy your pregnancy it's not easy feeling this way, but i'm sure after your baby is born your levels will return to normal & you will be able to enjoy being a Mum

I've also just been diagnosed with extremely low iron levels which explains the dizziness, shortness of breath even when on the phone and weak and tired! It just got worse the last 3 weeks of pregnancy, am now 27 weeks. My problem is I've totally gone off red meat so am taking sups, ferro-grad C which seems to be working already... trying to eat a bit of meat now too!

nimra - have you been to a calm birth course or something where they teach you about postive thinking etc, if you're up to it? perhaps go see someone who can help with you fears. I'm sorry you are not well at all, I hope things improve

I wanted to report in that I am feeling better too! I have been having Floradix (but not everyday), I have double the dose of the super dooper iron tablets that Nicole gave me (I think this one is the biggie helping me), I have two eggs for breakfast every day, boiled, mashed with mayo in a sandwich or alone YUM, and choosing more protein where I can. Even for snacks, I have a small tin of tuna or something else. I'm also exercising more, but I noticed feeling better before I started at the gym. Now I feel soooo much happier, and realise low iron all these years has really taken a toll, kinda feel like I have wasted that Its so depressing when you're tired all the time, and being a parent I wasn't my best... but there is hope, even with extremely low iron like I had!!! Hang in there.... x

Oh and I am making a special effort to ensure I drink cuppas well alone from protein/iron rich foods.
