After being on BB, I have learnt the losses are far more common than I ever realised. My heart aches for the little lives that didn't make it here every time I see them in someone's sig.

I know I am incredibly lucky to have had 2 healthy babies from 2 pregnancies.

My friends and I were talking about this a while ago, more than half the girls were lucky enough never to experience losses. I've had 3 pregnancies, 1 DS, 1 loss and there'll be another one when this one decides it's not quite as comfy! (40+6 today).

Knowing you're not alone, and the support I've found through here following the loss and subsequent pregnancy has been invaluable. It is sad that so many of us experience losses, but it does help when you're going through it yourself. No one should feel guilty for not experiencing a loss!!! Enjoy the beautiful exciting, amazing journey of pregnancy instead

6 pregnancies, 1 DS earthside, 1 DD grew her wings when she was born

    #1: DS
    #2, #3, #4: early m/c
#5: twins- ruptured ectopic at 6.5w, missed m/c blighted ovum 11w
#6: DD born sleeping (heart condition) 35w

I don't consider Poppy as a pregnancy loss. She was my daughter and she died. I lost my child. I mourned my m/c's differently.

I agree with those who wrote about strength. It's a funny word and when people use it to describe you, it feels so odd. Because you choose to be strong or brave or cowardly. I don't choose to grieve in my way. I just do. I'm not more or less brave than any other mother who has walked away from a hospital with empty arms and a broken heart. We are as we are. Grieving mothers.

It definitely counts hun. I had a termination at 8 weeks and even though it was ultimately my decision to go through with it, there was heavy preassure from my then DP and sometimes I quietly wonder what might have been.

It's not an easy thing to do regardless I always wonder what my angel would of been and how he/she would of looked.

    Three pregancies
    1 Very early miscarriage
2 Our darling angel Ellen born sleeping at 41 weeks
3 Our precious baby boy who is nearly 6 months old.
I was so thankful to leave hospital this time without the "empty arms" feeling.

I agree with Bec the grief from a miscarriage was very different to how I felt losing my daughter at full term.

Two pregnancies - one DD and one baking. There has been a lot of infant mortality in my family due to genetic issues so I know very well how lucky I am.
