Shel never touched unless bub was kicking, otherwise she said it was boring LOL. She wanted to feel the action, and if nothing was happening then why have her hand there? Which I figured was fair enough and pretty normal.
I tell Dh when bub is moving and he'll have a feel but TBH i count stand it if he was all over me all the time. Sometimes he'll suprise me by coming over and giving the bump a big kiss which is sweet
Yep like what Macca 79 said.
When I was preg with DD I thought he'd be all over the bump wanting to touch it pat it etc bu was really dissapointed that he didn't show all that much interest, odd touch here and there if I mentioned it or put his hand on it.
But as soon as DD was born he was all over her, he was hands on dad, singing to her doing everything so this time round being pregnant doesn't bother me as much cause I know once bubs is here he is great.
My DH didn't touch my bump at the begining much as it probably didn't seem that real to him iykwim? Once i started showing more from say 16 weeks onwards he started touching my bump heaps more
And now he touches it daily and rubs and kisses it because we're getting so close now to meeting this little monkey it's even more exciting!
I love it when he surprises me and gives my belly a big kiss! It's sweet.
DP loves to snuggle the bump in bed especially in the morning - but bubs does tend to be more active at that time so he gets to feel movement. Sometimes he will sit with his hand on my belly if we are watching tv. He will also give it a kiss if I am undressed after having a shower or something. He's not all over it all the time though.
DH never touches mine either. It's a bloke thing. I wanted him to touch it more first time around but now seeing him with DD, i really don't mind at all if he touches this bump or not, as i know he is an awsome Dad when the bump actually arrives!
DH doesn't touch my bump a great deal. Occassionally he will in bed. Usually, as he's saying goodbye to me in the morning, he'll say "Love you" and then touch my belly and say "Love you too". I'm not too worried about him not touching my bump a lot, cause I know he's happy and excited about the baby, and it will seem more real to him when we actually have a baby in front of us!
On the odd occasion Andy will... but not usually. If I tell him where there's movement he will. To be honest I'd actually find it really annoying if he was touching, rubbing, feeling my bump all the time. lol. That's just me though...and maybe cos it's sooooo hot too.
Lulu... dare I ask what he used to paint your bump with??? lol.... hmmmm.
My dh touched my bump all the time, whenever we were at home snuggling on the couch, or me cleaning he would come up and rub and hold my belly. We'd be at the shops and he'd put his hand on my belly. I found it embarrassing in public but my dh said he wanted to show the world this is his baby and was proud of it. I liked him being touchy with my belly its really the only thing that could make him close to his unborn child. He used to always say i was a baby hog while i was pregnant. I had the baby to myself all day and when he was around me it was his turn. I liked it, it made us closer as a couple.
Dh only touches it when we are in bed and then he'll do it until we're asleep. This is also when bub is awake and active so he'll play games with him then too. But he only started doing this around a month ago. Before that he wouldnt so i asked why and he said he didnt feel bonded to bub and was scared of how he'd handle 3 kids! But after a little chat he got over it.
DH will only touch my bump in the morning. All other times it is me pulling his hand to feel bubs. Same with last pregnancy too. Infact it wasnt' until DD2 was 6 weeks that he bonded. I would like to say though that he is a fab father and loves her with all of his heart. Definite daddies girl. So I have just come to accept he's not the touchy feely type.
Funny I found this thread. Just yesterday I said to DH that there was a photo on facebook of our friends who are preg, and they were standing together and he had one arm around her and one on the bump . I asked DH why can't he do that to me!!!!!
