Just wanted to say that I have been doing this for years, it's fantastic! My body is allergic to the creams etc so they just exacerbate the infection (was soooo painful finding THAT one out ) and garlic is the only thing that works. I usually insert a clove, and for really bad cases on the outside, I make a vinegar/garlic solution to bathe the area...works a treat and I highly recommend both; although the instant garlicy taste is sooo weird, isn't it

Interesting... I might have to try this. I wonder what else it works on. Might have to suggest to DH to rub some garlic on his rashes and see what he thinks after doing it.

    Great results Kelly!

I was just talking yesterday to a GF who has been using garlic for years for candida with great results when was telling her am going to try for my Strep B swap this time - and she told me when she was in Holland a couple of years ago she got the clove of garlic stuck in that 'pocket' and she eventually had to get it out with a FORK!!!! Eeeep - I will def be using the string I think

    Thumbs up

This is fantastic - thanks so much for posting!
I have been raving on to my family and friends for years about the antibacterial and anti-fungal effects of garlic - natures most powerful natural antibiotic!
The first thing I do when I am feeling run down is crush a couple of garlic cloves, mix it with some freshly squeezed lemon juice (high in Vit C and super-alkalising) and skull(spelling?) the mixture.

However, probiotics also warrant a mention here - as their primary role is to defend the body against infectious agents (ie Group B Strep) and a course of high potency probiotics from your health food store can wipe out or prevent GBS or thrush infections quite easily.

If only every Ob and midwife told their pregnant clients to supplement with a daily dose of probiotics and garlic - we would see GBS fall off the radar and far fewer babies and mothers would be exposed to immune suppressing antibiotics.

    Thanks for suggesting this
I've suffered from Thrush for like 15years of my life (and i'm only 23) and it competely ruins your life!! i've been on diets and probiotics and all sorts of things including the no sugar, no yeast no gluten no diary diet....
combining the garlic every 3rd day with some new probiotics i've tried i've had more improvement in 2 weeks with this than 8 weeks on the diet & probiotics.

yay... i dont care if i have to do the garlic for the rest of my life... it's easy to put in easy to get out - for those of you who are worried about that.
yes its soo weird cuz you can taste the garlic (and so can DH if he kisses me lol)... but it's worth the short discomfort of taste until you fall asleep...
So thanks for posting about the success of this, otherwise i never would have been game or knowing of trying it

Just wondering - would garlic also be helpful for use in a solution for fungal nappy rash do you think??

can i just ask, what sort of probiotics...do you mean something like 'inner health plus' or similar?

Also, it sounds like a good way to prepare for birth...how far in advance of giving birth would be a good time to start on a course of probiotics?
