I FEEL HUGE!!!! I know you get bigger faster with number two but do you get bigger all along the way as well? eg: are you bigger at 6 months than you were the 1st time you reached 6 months?

Often you are but not always. Because its not your first baby your skin isnt as taunt as it use to be and more relaxed as are the muscles so you appear bigger. Also your weight and the way the baby is lying changes how big you are. It doesn't neccessarily mean your baby is bigger either then no 1.

I know what you mean Kanda. My belly wasn't very big with DD and I took a photo today at 9 weeks and compared to my belly pictures with DD and I am about the same size as the 13 weeks and 5 days photo. I am looking forward to having a big round belly though as with DD people just thought I was getting fat .

Hmm. I have Belly shots of 3, 4, 5 and 6, although all at different times - so not so much with the comparing... Also 4 and 5 were 2 pound bigger than 3. I am about the same now as I was with 4, and I was 40wks with the photo of 3, so I guess I can compare them and see if I am getting another 6 pounder or 8 pounder, haha.

As for noticing.. I always feel like a city bus, so I guess I cant help too much there.

I feel HUGE with this one already! Kinda freaking out about how big I might get further down the track. But DS was only 3lb 10oz (1.6kg) at 36wks gest so we are all hoping I will get bigger than that anyway.

But I really feel like a beached whale and I still have 16 weeks (hopefully) to go!!

Oh but I must say that when I found out I was pregnant with DD within 2 weeks I had stretch marks forming on my thighs and my bum and thighs grew really fast, however this time my bum and thighs still seem in tact - so far!

That happened with my first pregnancy too. It's like the just popped up all over the show straight away. I didn't get any new ones with DS2.
I showed earlier with DS2 aswell, but I was thinner too, so that may have been a factor. Idk really.

You just get bigger sooner but not overall. That was my experience anyway. I was definitely bigger earlier with DS2, but I didn't grow as quickly and by about 6 months I was pretty much the same as my first pregnancy. In fact, in the last trimester people were telling me I wasn't very big.
Don't stress about belly size... take photos and you will laugh about having thought you were big when you look back.

Hmm I think evryone is different. Cause I have been waiting for 18 weeks to get bigger sooner lol! But have found I am actually smaller! Maybe we are just more aware of how our bodies are changing?

    Good luck with your pregnancy!

I am pregnant with Bubs no.4 at the moment and feeling huuuuge!

I kept pictures and measurements of my waist every month throughout my other pregnancies and they were all roughly the same (within a cm or two). This time I am measuring at what I did with 3-4 months with the others and Im only 6.5 weeks!!! I'm concerend that it might be twins (not as much as my husband though!). I dont think I have actually put on that much weight - just a whole lot bigger around the belly

Any ideas?any thing else that might be causing this? It just seems odd to be almost the same with three and then massive this time!

    Thanks

With DS2, I had people telling me I was pg before I even knew I was. I was showing that much even before I was 4 weeks pg! And I was in maternity clothes by 6 or 7 weeks. We didn't really have the option of telling before 12 weeks LOL - I ended up having to tell people who had known before I did! DS2 was 4 weeks early, but I don't think I got much bigger at the end than I as with DS1 if at all. You get bigger quicker but it settles down at some point.

I always joked that #2 picked up where I left off with #1 as far as stretchmarks and varicose veins and all that horrible stuff went. As for getting bigger - I was "showing" at 9wks - as in people were jokingly asking if I was pg not knowing that I actually was. However I stayed smaller overall in the belly than with #1 so it must have evened out somewhere

Good thread, because I'd been wondering the same thing!

This pg my trousers started feeling a bit too snug at 9 weeks and my usual tops/shirts started sitting tighter across my tummy at about the same time. I started wearing maternity clothes at 11 weeks - felt weird buying winter maternity clothes before the end of first trimester, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

With DS, I didn't even need maternity clothes until approx 16 weeks!

Whilst my belly is starting to sprout nicely, I am smaller this time then I was last time. I am about the same size now at 16 weeks as I was at 13 weeks with my last.
