He did the external scan first and bub is still there, measuring on dates and HB has increased to 135BPM so getting stronger!
The other sack has now ruptured, and extends from the top of the left horn, down to the cervix and is measuring 6.1x3x4.3cm , but the rupture explains the cramping and bleed I had last night as the sac was intact on Tuesday. Hopefully this also means that they aren't connected anymore and the blood and clotting can flow out easier, without pulling on the good sac.
They then did the Trans V exam, to measure the cervix length, and it came back at 2.7cm, which is great, that extra 0.5cm makes a huge difference as it brings it into the "normal" zone, rather than being too short. So will discuss with my OB on Monday, she will continue monitoring it, and may recommend putting the stitch in anyway to assist in prolonging the pregnancy.
The Dr who came in today, wasn't the nicest, she said flat out I won't make it to term - gee thanks!!! I am glad she isn't my Dr for this pregnancy as I don't appreciate people who don't have a positive attitude. She also said that 33 weeks was excellent, in the scale of the prem world yes 33 weeks is a good gestation but in no means is it guarenteed safety, there are so many issues which can cause complications at that age, we were lucky and DD had a reasonably smooth journey, but the issues have come up since well sorry hun but I am trying to have a full term baby that I get to take home with me, after a couple of days, not weeks later
So we have made it a few more days, and I am already counting down to my OB appointment on Monday , but I hold a greater hope with the growth of bub and the strengthening of the HB
That's great news for you and the belly babe - not so great on the Dr though! I still find it extraordinary that Dr's that are completely unrelated to your overall care feel the need to say that sort of crap to you.
I am glad you have had some positive results there! And yay for your usual dr! I believe that babies in themselves are absolute miracles and we can never underestimate the positive things that can happen! Stay strong I believe you can do it, flip I even would go as far to say I believe you could go past you edd! So yay for your usualy dr!!
thats great news!!!! im so glad you got some good news and explanations for everything, sounds like you are in good hands.....apart from that stupid doctor! wont she look silly when you have your baby at 41 weeks! hugs. x
