I understand why you're upset honey. I just want to add a little more information. If you did lose a twin which it would seem is almost certain... Then this will fiddle with your hcg results. So, there would still have been residual HCG from the other embryo. This could look like less of a rise than really did occur for the baby that is there.

After a heartbeat is seen on u/s the best indicator of wellbeing is the sight of a consistent and adequate heart beat & of course growth. You have this so that is an incredibly positive sign.

So - whilst that rise could seem deflating I have personally seen this occur from a twin pregnancy where one has flown away. I hope & pray that your baby stays...

Thankyou so much Inanna, it would line up as the rupture of the second sac was Wednesday night before the scan, and with all the preceeding bleeding, we can hope that is most certainly the case just wish this wasn't such a rollercoaster, I look forward to just enjoying this pregnancy, not looking at numbers waiting for results and scans...

Huge hugs Beema - sorry I've been so self consumed lately hun, I had no idea you were going through this.

Crossing fingers and toes this is the only bump in the road for the rest of your pregnancy and birth .

Just caught up with all this...

I too can see a time when you're posting about feeling over it and big at 41+ weeks! I woulda said to that Dr, 'Whatchoo talkin' about? This is a take-home bubba!'

All the best and I all is well for you and you can keep relaxed and positive - the best things you can do for 'flicker'.

Oh, hun what a difficult time this is - so many emotions and so much to deal with as you try to have some reassurance and understanding of what's happening. I'll continue to pray that your baby holds on tight, and that your OB can give you lots of reassurance and the wait until Monday isn't too bad.

The heartbeat is everything, and with the increase, it sounds so very positive and strong little baby hanging in there!

Come on, little flicker, you're strong enough to be a take home bub, we know it!

Thankyou all so very much for your support I have read your messages over and over again and they give me strength and positive outlook that I need, less than 48 hours now and I will know....

No fresh bleeding or cramps again today, so it is helping me keep a more positive perspective on Monday, I have also done some reading on the Progesterone and my level is really good for the first trimester, and as Inanna say the reduction in the rise of the HCG would almost certainly be due to the loss of the twin, which I am now starting to deal with and comprehend. But really keeping my focus on Flicker for the present, sending all my strength to grow this little bubba.

Thankyou all again, you don't know how much you have helped me get through the past week
