Unhappy OB appointment.. one good thing the rest was not so good...

    OB Appointment...

Um one good thing the rest not so good

Platelets went up my OB said for now, but I said let me celebrate this one good thing and she laughed and said yes indeed and the HR was 154, dropped quite a bit but completely normal so nothing to be concerned with there.

    Not so good...

Not much fluid around Flicker, seems that we are heading for the opposite we had with DD which was too much amniotic fluid. There is a lot of stuff floating around in the fluid that is there as well, dead cells etc, which I guess is normal we just never saw it with DD.

Flicker is now feet down, we need Flicker to turn, my OB really wants that to happen sooner as with the lack of fluid and location of the placenta it isn't going to help the longer it takes. We really want a VB, as we all know how much better it will be for Flicker if we do.

My cervix has shortened by 1cm in two weeks She is worried that the BH's and cramps are making things start too soon. If it has shortened anymore she is putting me on Crinome cream (sp), to hopefully stabilise the cervix. I think from this that and activity around the cervix will make things worse, so a stitch may not be where we can go, but will wait and see.

    Can I just say Crap

I have to go back in two weeks for another cervix length, if I get any more cramping or the BH's, and there is an increase in either I am to call straight away.
I am now booking into the WCH as well, as things aren't improving....

    big Beema xx

I'm obviously so not an expert on this particular issue, but how bad is it for flicker to keep playing head up at this stage? i would of thought that he/she would still be very much on the move for a bit longer yet...or is just the combo of it being with lower fluid levels? sorry for the ignorant questions....

Flicker is a fighter! her/his heartrate is good and strong! (i reckon that should still be seen as a positive xx)...

hope that you are holding up today, this must be really intense having to deal with so much information and strategies. it sounds like your OB is really lovely and supportive and on the ball.

The problem with Flicker being head up now is that there is less room for him/her now then there was 2 weeks ago, it is the combination of the reduction in fluid and the placenta is taking up so much room and goes over the septum in my uterus, so him/her basically has less than half of my uterus to move in due to the shape of it. She wants Flicker to be head down sooner as she doesn't think we are going to be making it far into the 3rd tri.

I have just shifted the HR as well, as I completely agree that is a positive

Oh Beema I hadn't caught up on the latest developments... sounds like things are getting more and more complicated.

I really hope DH is continuing to be a great support and that you can lean on your IRL support network to help out lots. Must be so tough for you - I don't even really know what to say, but I am thinking of you and praying for you and little Flicker!

PS - I have to agree, Flicker is such a fighter...
