    implantation bleed??

ok i really need some other ppls advise plz. this might be TMI so if it is im sorry....

Yesterday I started getting cramps and a headache ( i never get headaches) by yesterday afternoon i was bleeding alil. it wasnt very heavy but just thought my period had come a wk early. used a tampon but when i went to change it, there wasnt a real lot of blood. put a pad on to go to bed n when i woke up there was only a lil patch. (when usually my periods start off pretty heavy.)

does this sound like implantation bleeding?

I was thinking about just waiting and see if it gets heavier and if its not heavier by this arvo taking a test?

I don't quite understand implantation bleeding but though it happened about 5 weeks. But my OB mentioned it when I was bleeding at 10 weeks.

I'd do the test if I were you. But I bought tests in a 3 pack too.

And I don't think you are meant to wear tampons if you are pregnant.

Implantation bleeding I thought usually happened about 4-7days after ovulation when the fertilized egg embeds it's self into your uterus.

The kind of bleeding you described sounds like implantation bleeding(amount etc) but would depend on timing in your cycle.
Do you know when you ovulated?

Yep this is right willow. If it is implantion bleeding you will still need to wait another 3-7 days to test, if you test now it will be to early.
It does sound promising if your period is due in a week .

Breakthrough bleeding can occur around the time of your normal period, maybe this is what your doctor was referring to Phil's Mum?

I had two implantation bleeds (according to my GP), both slightly different. I had one a week after I ovulated and it was brownish (like old blood) on the toilet paper when I wiped - nothing else (no pad necessary) and it only happened that once. About 4 days after getting my BFP (so I was 4+4), I had quite a lot of clear mucous streaked with pink blood. I freaked out and took off to the GP who said it sounded like an implantation bleed.

I honestly think my first one was the actual implantation bleed though as I was charting and knew my dates, signs, etc.

    Good luck!!!

Taurean - The second bleed that you mentioned I believe would have been breakthrough bleeding which I mentioned in my above post, this usually occurs when your period would normally be due. I agree that your first bleed/spotting would have been the implantion bleed.

Gosh our bodies are so complicated aren't they?!

Light spotting may occur when your fertilised egg attaches itself to the womb lining (known as implantation bleeding), but this is often so minimal that it goes unnoticed.

Another reason for early spotting is known as breakthrough bleeding, which may occur at the time when your period would have been due. This is caused by fluctuating hormone levels, and can continue on and off for the first 12 weeks, until the placenta takes over hormone production.

I don't think so, as the timing wouldn't fit, in my case. I think that what she meant was that just because you bleed at implantation, it doesn't mean the blood actually comes away from your body at that time.
