    Iron tablets?

So I've started taking iron tablets today (dr called recommending it due to low levels in blood test last week), just wondering how long it will take for them to start working? I've been feeling completely exhausted for a few days & really don't want it to go on much longer!

Awhile, and it's gradual as your body replaces the iron. Are you taking it with vitamin C (tablets or orange juice) to help with absorption?
Also, make sure you're well hydrated, cos the tablets can back things up a bit if you're not careful!
    All the best, exhaustion sucks.

Thanks Nelle, yes, I'm taking ferro grad C capsules, so they have the vit c to aid absorbtion. I was thinking of having a prune a day or something to combat the possible blockage issue lol... Just wish it didn't get to this point of exhaustion! I was ready for bed at 8pm last night!

It's awful isn't it. Apple and pear juice can help too. Last pregnancy I was told to take 2 a day (my levels were REALLY low because I'm a wally who kept forgetting my supplements early on) and yeahhhhh. Keep hydrated is my important advice for you.
