Joint Baby Shower/Housewarming Party Invitations?

Hello again ladies (and gentlemen)

I was thinking about my baby shower tonight and decided that it's a bit unfair to kick DH out of the house just because it's customary for baby showers to be women only - especially since I prefer my male friends and family to the women.

Then I remembered that we're moving at the end of February - about a week or two before I was planning to have my baby shower. So... why not have a joint shower/housewarming? That way my female family members won't kick up a stink about men being there and I get to hang out with people I actually like while still having some traditional things (I love the games, sue me.)

Now the next challenge - how do I word the invitations? Should I make two invitations like it's two different parties? Like, the baby shower starting around 11am (so I get my games, etc), and housewarming at 2pm (so I can have male friends and family around and I have a reason to not kick DH out)? It worked for my bridal shower earlier this year - I had my make-up trial at 10am, bridal shower at 3pm, and my hen's night at 7:30.

I guess I'm rambling a little, trying to get it all out...

EDIT: Just looked down at my ticker... Reckon I should do my shave for charity the same day? Really make it a fun day

I Had the exact problem with my baby shower, I was inviting the girlfriends of my male friends and thinking...hang on a sec I'd much rather the boys be there? We ended up having a bbq lunch for the shower, and kicking the boys outside to organise the food/drinks!

I think a joint housewarming/baby shower is a great idea!! And including the shave for charity would be a great motivator to get everyone to come along!! Why not invite everyone along for the whole day? but maybe let the boys know it's ok to come a bit later if they're apprehensive about the baby shower ;p

I can just see DH's friends trying to guess how many squares of toilet paper fit around my belly or tasting baby food and guessing what flavour it is... I think they might pass out if we do that one where you melt chocolate into a nappy and guess what kind it is

hahaha my well meaning friend organised the choc in the nappy game...unfortuantly I was still suffering from a bit of morning sickness/nausea...lol ;p

This time round we are having a joint male and female party as there were a few males who wanted to attend last time ie hubby, brother in law.
