Talking Just for a bit of fun,

I thought it would be fun to start a thread on the cravings you have had during your pregnancy/ies and what gender your baby was?
I am well aware that there is no colrrelation between gender and cravings I just thought it would be a fun thread to open up to all the weird and wonderful things we HAVE to have and things we go to extremes to avoid.

Also what foods did you go off completely?

I was nutty for Banana smoothies, Cinnamon donuts and KFC through DD2's pregnancy (I am sure some of my old PB's would be able to add to that), and I went off red meat. I couldn't stand the smell of any meat cooking and lived on hot dogs and those processed ckicken kievs LOL

DD1 I think it was the same.

This pregnancy so far I cannot get enough bacon and eggs or garlic prawns OMG I could eat garlic prawns all day every day providing its in a rich creamy sauce.
have gone off lamb unless its cooked with lemon and rosemary, and have gone off sausages.

No idea of gender for another 4-5 weeks.

1st pregnancy I craved ribena, anything with blackcurrent in it really and alchohol, which I didn't drink. I also loved Maccas chocolate shakes! Maccas is an hour away from us, I used to make DH drive me there for one. Baby was a boy

2nd pregnancy was pretty much the same, I coudln't get enough Maccas Diet Coke. Baby was a girl

3rd pregnancy I craved cake and wine. I totally went off red meat and still don't enjoy it to this day. Baby was a girl

With DD I went off all soft drinks pretty early on and had mad hankerings for salt & vinegar chips - the tangier, the better.

Later on I couldn't get enough vegetables or milk (boring, I know!).

I have a little girl running around, and I survived on Raspberry slurpies, mexican food (poor DH, he can hardly stand to even look at mexican now!) and pink iced donuts.

DD- orange juice, ice, iced coffees, soda water, soft boiled eggs & buttery toast, I also couldn't get enough cold water (I usually hate refidgerated drinks and fruit, but it HAD to be cold when I was pg with DD)
DS1- ham and cheese toasties, soda water again, and I couldn't stand eggs in any way shape or form, bananas.
DS2- space food bars (lol!), icy cold milk, milky drinks of and form, beer (I had 1 or 2 but could have happily drunk a bottle every day!), strawberries

DD I craved watermelon and diet coke. I went right off black tea.

DS can't remember a specific craving but I went off black tea and Turkish Delight (I normally looooove both).

Time will tell with this one I guess.

DD1 - Slurpees and citrus. Couldn't touch red meat.
DS - Anything deep fried, especially potato cakes.
DD2 - Sausage rolls and slurpees.

With both girls I drank a Slurpee EVERY day, even before I had a BFP. Haven't had one since DD2 was born. When I headed into my local 7/11 after DD2 was born (for milk), the blokes behind the counter were so excited I had had the baby!

I didn't crave anything really until the end of my pregnancy and then it was for ice cream of any kind but mainly Paddle Pops. I could eat 3 in one sitting. It was getting crazy and my OB actually cut me off because I starting putting on alot of weight right at the end and she attibuted it to the Paddle Pops.

I'm glad she did cut me off because I'm really finding it hard to get the last 5 kilo's off now that my Son is here. It must be 5 kilo's of Paddle Pops!!!! LOL!!!

DD1 - pancakes with brown sugar and banana mmmmm, white magnums and vegetarian nachos
DD2 - same but due to gall bladder issues couldn't have them much. my others were Rennie lol and mission wraps with chicken breast, avocado, soy mayo and fresh basil toasted in sandwich press. White kitkat was also a massive craving.

I acquired a taste for pepper in my pregnancies and love it now.

With Moo I think I just craved food in general if I saw someone eating something - that's it! Had to have it! But I did start drinking orange juice when I've ALWAYS hated the stuff. I also had to have two ham, cheese & tomato sandwiches every day, which is also odd as I've never eaten tomato before in my life! I still enjoyed at least one coffee everyday too. I drank sooo much water & had a thing for fruit too.

This time around I have completely gone off coffee, ran out weeks ago & haven't even bought anymore. I don't know if it's a craving but I've been needing potato type foods like potato gems, hash browns, mashed spuds, baked potatos etc. I'm still getting nausea & as soon as I've got some fries in my hand it goes away A lot of foods just turn me off which makes things difficult. I'll make a soup then once it's dished up I can't eat it. I'm finding it hard to drink water this time too, I have to have cordial in it, just can't stand it. Yet to see what this one is but the cravings are very different!

everything made me feel awful for ages, and I had ms and heartburn for about 32 weeks!

but oranges were top on my list for a long time (would eat up to 8 a day!) and chocolate milk too (despite having been allergic to full cream milk my entire life...)

other than that ... lots of banana smoothies ... and steamed potatoes and green beans with butter.

    and I had a boy
